Jolof Cuisine, Culver's, and Other New Businesses Opening Soon (6/4)

Thanks for reading our restaurant round up! We're excited to break news on several new restaurants, cafes and food trucks throughout the state.

NASSAU COUNTY

Kismet Coffee

A new coffee shop is coming to Fernandina Beach soon, owners Ashley Herrera and Jasmine Serrano told FFBW. Kismet Coffee will operate with a local focus, sourcing many of their goods from their community.

The shop will be opening at: 5517 S Fletcher Ave, Fernandina Beach, FL 32034. Herrera and Serrano reported that they'd like to open on June 24th. Once operating, they will maintain hours of six am to six pm seven days a week.

Expect coffee from the local Nuanz Roasters, pastries from 1748 Bakehouse and ice cream from Yoder's Southern Creamery. Herrera and Serrano mentioned that they make their own syrups to add flavor to the coffee. Look out for teas and juices on the menu too.

Kismet Coffee is also seeking to host gatherings like book clubs, trivia and movie nights. They are still working out exactly when and what they will do.

LEON COUNTY

Jolof Cuisine

A new West African restaurant is planning to open in Tallahassee later this summer, owner Ndiaye Bousso told FFBW. Jolof Cuisine will likely open around September.

The restaurant is planning to open at: 1885 Northwood Center Blvd, Tallahassee, FL 32303. Bousso said that they will primarily serve takeout, but they will also have a couple of tables inside.

This is Bousso's first restaurant.

DUVAL COUNTY

Culver's

The new location of Culver's on Hodges Boulevard in Jacksonville is planning a June 17 opening, co-operator Joe Lichte told FFBW.

Part of the Lichte operating family, Joe, his sister Sophia, and their parents Donald and Lori own two other locations of Culver's in the Jacksonville-area. Following this location, they will continue to search for a fourth unit, Lichte said.

Expect to find this newest Culver's at: 4768 Hodges Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32224. The new building is being constructed by McGann Construction from Madison, Wisconsin. Lichte shared that they will have 99 seats inside for guests, and the total square footage of the space is 4,570.

Once opened, they will employ around 80 people. Lichte highlighted Culver's leadership development programs in which team members are trained to grow with the company – a training focus that has seen team members become owner operators.

HERNANDO COUNTY

Izo's Latin Cafe

A new and independent Latin cafe and restaurant is opening soon in Spring Hill, co-owner Rashel Rodriguez told FFBW. Izo's Latin Cafe will be a quick service restaurant focused on to-go and carry-out orders.

The new business is planning to open at: 3465 Deltona Blvd, Spring Hill, FL 34606. They will serve a mix of bowls, sandwiches, wraps, salads and a mix of Latin foods as well. FFBW is waiting to receive the full menu from Izo's and will update accordingly.

Izo's Latin Cafe is planning to open between June 15-18th. Keep an eye out for them soon.

BREVARD COUNTY

Chicken on the Run

A new food truck is coming to the Merritt Island soon, co-owner Antonio Lovett told FFBW. The food truck will be operated by Tonya Lovett, Antonio's wife.

The truck will sell fried chicken, fried pork chops, shrimp and grits, fish and grits and other southern style dishes. Chicken on the Run will likely open in a couple of weeks. Once opened, they will stake out around: 1320 N Tropical Trail, Merritt Island, FL 32953.

They will likely be open six to seven days a week. Watch out for Chicken on the Run to open soon.

POLK COUNTY

Da Place Hookah Lounge

A new bar and hookah lounge is preparing to open soon in Winter Haven, owner Wandy Noel told FFBW.

Da Place Hookah Lounge will bring drinks, hookah, pool, darts, karaoke, boxing machines, PlayStations and Xbox's to: 3547 Recker Hwy, Winter Haven, FL 33880. The space will have about 180 seats inside and Noel plans to open in mid-June.

Da Place Hookah Lounge is Noel's second restaurant. He plans to develop the food menu once opened, but he's still figuring out what he plans to serve.

Lake House Kitchen

A local food truck fleet is opening their first brick and mortar in the Bowen Yard Food Hall soon, co-owner Dustin Lyle told FFBW. Lake House Kitchen has seven food trucks that they serve their menu of Mexican cuisine from.

The new location will be at: 308 4th St SW, Winter Haven, FL 33880. Lyle estimates that they will open in a month or so. However, much of this depends on construction.

In their brick and mortar, Lyle said that they may add to their menu. Expect around 20-30 seats inside and hundreds of shared seats outside. Lake House Kitchen is one of six concepts opening in the Bowen Yard Food Hall.

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY

Paris Baguette

A new location of Paris Baguette will be opening soon in Tampa, co-franchisee Jinchul Hong told FFBW. This location of Paris Baguette will likely debut in October.

Find the new location at: 17515 Preserve Walk Ln, Tampa, FL 33647. Hong shared that they are selecting a general contractor right now and plan for all to be ready by this fall. Once opened, they will seat around 32 guests.

Following this location, Hong is planning to bring units to St. Pete, Brandon and Sarasota. His plan is to open four total.


The Fryer House

The Tampa-area food truck Fryer House is opening a storefront soon, owner Ashraf Ayyash told FFBW. The Fryer House space will allow them to add more options to the menu.

Ayyash reported that they will open at: 6617 N Nebraska Ave, Tampa, FL 33604. The goal is to debut in mid-June if all goes well. The storefront will allow The Fryer House to offer an expanded menu of grilled options and fruit juices.

The Fryer House will offer the first Halal al pastor tacos at their new location, Ayyash said. Fresh and locally sourced fruit juices will be available too. The watermelon juice, for example, will be a small watermelon blended into a juice for guests to carry out. This same principal will be applied to the other items.

The menu of fried hot chicken, wings, sandwiches, Japanese fried chicken and much more will be available most days of the week. The truck will be stationed near the building and will serve as the kitchen for the space. Guests will order at the counter and will not interface with the truck while there.

When they open, Ayyash said that the truck will be at the brick and mortar space every day. Eventually, they will find a rhythm of days in which the truck is elsewhere at events and pop-ups too.

PINELLAS COUNTY

Ana's Bakery

A new Balkan takeout restaurant is opening in Clearwater, owner Nick Capo and his sister Ana told FFBW. Ana's Bakery is trying to open sometime this summer.

The restaurant will appear at: 1441 S Belcher Rd, Clearwater, FL 33764. Once opened, they will operate from six or seven am until around three pm.

The menu will consist of Albanian and Balkan dishes like byrek and more. Additionally, they will offer soft serve ice cream and coffee.

Look out for Ana's Bakery this summer.

OKEECHOBEE COUNTY

Iron Eagle Bar and Grill

The rehashing of the old Iron Eagle Bar and Grill is preparing to open soon in Okeechobee, co-owner Dina Lanchaster told FFBW.

Having recently passed inspections, they are waiting on their liquor license to come through. Once that is complete, they will open the doors. Lanchaster estimates having a soft opening on June 10th. Guests will be able to enjoy beer, mixed drinks and classic American comfort foods.

Watch out for Iron Eagle Bar and Grill soon.

PALM BEACH COUNTY

Macaron Maestro

Based on eastern European-style bakeries and cafes, Macaron Maestro is bringing designer desserts to Palm Beach Gardens soon. A representative of the brand shared that they are planning to open this summer.

Macaron Maestro will be owned and operated by Munara Osmanov. Expect a range of desserts like designer macarons that are bigger with thicker ganache, marshmallow flower bouquets, high quality teas, freshly roasted coffee and cakes.

While the cafe will have around 15 seats, their products will also be available to go. They will package their desserts in designer boxes meant to be giftable at events like weddings, graduations, baby showers and birthdays.

LEE COUNTY

One Love Bakery and Cafe

A new Jamaican bakery is opening in Fort Myers, owner Cyprian Reid told FFBW. One Love Bakery and Cafe will be a takeout-oriented cafe at: 3505 Fowler St, Fort Myers, FL 33901.

Once opened, One Love will operate six days a week from 10-6 and will be closed on Sundays. Reid anticipates opening in a couple of months.


Real Seafood Co.

The Naples location of Real Seafood Co. is moving to new digs this fall, Main Street Ventures CEO Kevin Gudejko told FFBW. The new location will be in the high-traffic Coconut Point in Estero.

Gudejko reported that they will be re-opening at: 23106 Fashion Dr, Estero, FL 33928. The reason for the move from Fontana Del Sol Way in Naples is the active mix of retail and restaurants in Coconut Point and the resulting increase of foot traffic.

The new location will have an additional 100 seats, bringing them to 300 seats between the indoor and outdoor spaces. The menu will likely be similar to that of the Naples unit.
