SARASOTA, FL – Flambo Island Cuisine is preparing to bring island flavors to 40 S. Blvd of the Presidents, Sarasota, FL 34236, with an expected opening date on October 1, 2025. Co-owner Kevin Ramlochan told Business Debut that the restaurant will celebrate his family’s story while offering island-inspired dining in the heart of St. Armands Circle.

The Sarasota location will accommodate an estimated 100 to 175 people with 135 indoor seats and 40 outside seats.

Ramlochan noted that they will heavily emphasize welcoming hospitality. “We really pride ourselves in giving that island-style hospitality and treating every guest like they're at our home,” he said. “It’s about reconnecting with diners, sharing stories, and creating genuine experiences.”

What to Expect on the Menu

Sarasota location's menu will depart slightly from the menu Flambo is known for in Philadelphia. Along with some American favorites, guests will find a unique blend of Trinidad and Tobago's flavors and bold spices. There will be other specialties like seafood paella, curry mussels, and coconut shrimp. They will also serve a variety of drinks, including draft beers and daily specials, at their 20-seat bar.

Ramlochan, who was recognized in the Philadelphia Inquirer for his cocktails and placed in the top five of the Bar Boss competition, is curating the drink menu himself. “We’ll be pairing specialty cocktails with our food, creating special drinks and bringing new flavors to the circle,” he explained.

A Growing Family-Owned Venture

Flambo Island Cuisine is a family-owned venture led by Kevin, his father, Anthony Logan, and supported by his wife, Breanna Ramlochan. The Ramlochan family’s journey began with a food cart at Temple University before expanding to a brick-and-mortar in Philadelphia. Their Philadelphia location has thrived for three years, and the Sarasota restaurant will be their third location.

“My dad and I wanted to step away from the corporate lifestyle and become our own bosses,” Ramlochan said. The family comes from Trinidad and Tobago, and they plan to share the rich culinary culture from there in Florida, which has influences from Indian, African, Chinese, and Spanish traditions.

Opening Hours

Flambo Island Cuisine will serve breakfast, brunch, and dinner, with a short midday closure to reset before dinner service. Stay tuned for updates and their social media once launched.
