DAVIE, FL- Chef Reece Kitchen is relocating from 5187 S. University Drive in Davie to 4196 S. University Drive, Davie, FL 33328, with a reopening targeted for the first week of March pending final inspections, co-owner and chief operating officer Katana Dawkins told Business Debut. The restaurant originally launched inside a Chevron gas station in Pembroke Pines in February 2023 before moving to Davie.

What to Expect

The concept is described as elevated fast casual Jamaican fusion. Guests order at the counter and can dine in or take food to go.

The new location will offer approximately 70 seats, expanding from the more limited seating at the current space. Dawkins said the added room will support both dine-in growth and increased catering operations.

“We are a Jamaican fusion concept. So what that means is taking traditional and authentic Jamaican flavors and dishes and putting a little modern twist on it.” Dawkins said.

The restaurant is named after executive chef Travis Reece, also known as “Oxtail Reese.” Ownership includes Katana Dawkins and her husband, Randy Dawkins, who serves as CEO, along with Travis Reece and his wife, Sabrina Reece, the store manager.

Menu staples include oxtail, jerk chicken and honey garlic salmon. The fusion approach extends to pasta dishes such as honey garlic salmon pasta, oxtail pasta and jerk chicken pasta, along with wings and shrimp.

The restaurant will continue its weekday lunch special Monday through Friday from 11 a.m.–2 p.m. for just $7.99. The special includes fried chicken or jerk chicken served with rice and vegetables.

Opening Timeline

The team is targeting a reopening during the first week of March, pending final inspections.

The relocation places the restaurant roughly two minutes from its current Davie address. Dawkins said the larger footprint will allow the team to expand catering services for events, parties and corporate functions.

Hours

Monday through Saturday 10 a.m.to 9 p.m. Closed Sunday.
