FAYETTEVILLE, NC – A new dining and nightlife destination is coming to downtown. Owners Charles Keith Bowen II and his wife, Ashley Bowen, along with business partners Kaleb and Jade White, are preparing to open their latest concept on Saturday, September 20th.

Dad Bod District will debut at the historic Crest building, 229 Hay St, Fayetteville, NC 28301. Bowen II told Business Debut that they are launching with a rooftop party at 6 p.m. on the 20th.

A Multi-Level Experience in a Historic Setting

The new location will have three distinct areas all in one building. On the first floor, there's a family-friendly restaurant with a sports bar atmosphere and big TVs showing football, and other popular sports.

The rooftop area will serve tapas with premium bourbons, martinis, and cocktails, making it a nice spot for date night. The second floor will be open by late October for events and entertainment, including dueling pianos, comedy acts, and other community events.

The restaurant and rooftop will initially operate from Wednesday through Sunday, 11:30 a.m. – 10 p.m. Once the second floor opens, the entire building will extend hours until 2 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.

Food and Beverage: From Southern BBQ to International Flair

On the ground floor, guests can expect really good Southern comfort barbecue-style food, including barbecue smoked chicken, macaroni and cheese, and more. They’ll also feature a special item rotation with international flavors, including Italian and Polynesian-inspired dishes such as chicken Alfredo and Samoan-style barbecue.

While the rooftop menu will be more upscale dishes, offering such as tapas plates, filet mignon, and more.

From Food Trucks to Downtown Dining

The Bowens first entered the Fayetteville food industry by launching their food truck in March 2024, followed by the opening of Dad Bod's Dive Bar in November of the same year. Their experience with mobile and casual dining gave them insight into local tastes and operations, which they are now bringing to a more permanent, multi-level location.

While the food truck will no longer operate, Dive Bar will remain active, offering guests QR-code access to order directly from the new restaurant and have it delivered straight to their table.
