DUNEDIN, FL – Crab & Mac, a new Maryland-inspired crab cake and mac-and-cheese food trailer, officially opened today, September 30, 2025, at 1143 Main Street, Dunedin, FL 34698. Owner Randall McDonald, along with partner Jackson, told Business Debut they plan to serve the local community during the week and travel to events across Florida on weekends.

A Food Trailer with a Signature Focus

Crab & Mac was born from a unique culinary experience hosted by McDonald and his partner, where guests raved about the crab cakes paired with smoked mac and cheese. “People kept saying it was the best crab cake they’d had in a long time, so we knew we had found our niche,” McDonald said.

The food trailer will set up outside a barbershop on Main Street, offering a tent and seating for guests. Regular operating hours will be Tuesday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., with Fridays depending on scheduling. Weekends will largely be reserved for festivals and special events across the state.

The menu centers on lightly seared crab cakes packed with real crab meat and no fillers, along with smoked mac and cheese. McDonald emphasizes that nothing is fried — instead, dishes are made fresh and healthy, letting the crab shine as the star.

Experience & First Venture

Though this is McDonald’s first personal restaurant venture, he brings more than 20 years of experience as a chef and consultant in New York and beyond. “I’ve done consulting for a long time, but Crab & Mac is my first baby,” he said.
