Clearwater Brewing Company Making a Comeback With New Owners

Clearwater Brewing Company is making a return under new ownership, co-owners Hannah and Robert Menard shared with Business Debut. The Menards also own Reefer’s Social Club on Clearwater Beach.

The couple has partnered with Brian Thompson and Shane Seagle to revive the brewery, which originally opened in 2019 and closed in August 2023. The team plans to bring the area a local, family-friendly staple offering games, food, live music, indoor and outdoor seating, and fresh drinks.

Located at 1700 N Fort Harrison Ave, Clearwater, FL 33755, the brewery sits in a repurposed 1950s Gulf gas station near the Pinellas Bike Trail.

Robert Menard noted their broader vision includes expanding the brand’s retail and distribution footprint with both their craft beers and a line of their own branded spirits.

“We would like to be on a tap near you as soon as possible,” he said.

Guests can expect trivia nights, TVs for sports, bocce ball, and a fenced in turf area for children and pets. The indoor space will be air-conditioned and include additional seating.

The food menu will feature scratch-made comfort foods, including fresh pizzas made with homemade dough, baked and fried wings, and more. Their chef brings a background in baking, adding to the focus on fresh, elevated pub fare.

On the brewing side, the Menards have installed a new 10-barrel brew system and 45 barrels of fermentation capacity. Alongside their beers, the team plans to serve wine, seltzers, and eventually their own brand of spirits — though the spirits may not be available immediately at launch.

The business is in the final stages of renovation and is targeting a mid-July opening.

Hours will be Wednesday through Friday from 3 pm to midnight, and Saturday and Sunday from 11 am to midnight.
