Billy Boy’s BBQ Gearing Up to Fire Up Flavors in Albany
A new BBQ spot is on the way.
ALBANY, GA – BILLY BOY'S BBQ is gearing up to open soon at 2706 Ledo Rd, Albany, GA 31707, bringing a fresh take on barbecue and gourmet hot dogs to the community. The restaurant is owned by Chef Zay Bernard Morris, who told Business Debut that Billy Boy's Barbecue plans to open in about a month, pending final inspections.
The restaurant will be takeout-focused and operate Tuesday through Saturday from 11 am – 7 pm. There is also a possibility for limited hours on Sunday in the future.
A Unique Concept with Creative Flavors
The restaurant’s menu blends barbecue favorites with unexpected offerings. While chopped barbecue sandwiches and wraps will be available, Morris said the spotlight will be on quarter-pound, all-beef gourmet hot dogs, with no pork alternatives in sight.
One standout creation is the Mac Daddy, a hot dog topped with macaroni and cheese and drizzled with Morris’s signature sauce, a sweet and spicy hot honey mustard he developed 15 years ago.
Instead of traditional fried sides, Billy Boy's will serve grilled and home-style options like dirty rice, smoked macaroni and cheese, potato salad, coleslaw, baked beans with meat, and homemade green beans. “We’re trying to be more health-conscious type deal,” Morris said.
Honoring Family and Serving Veterans
The name Billy Boy's BBQ carries a personal story. Morris shared that he named the restaurant after his late brother, an Army veteran who passed away about 17 years ago. To honor him, Morris will feature his brother’s photo inside the restaurant and extend a 10% daily discount to all veterans.
“We never give up on my dream. So what I did was name the restaurant after him,” Morris said.
This is Morris’s ninth restaurant venture, though he notes this one will be a more streamlined, takeout-focused concept compared to his previous full-service operations.
