ST. LUCIE COUNTY

Bearded Brothers Taphouse & Eatery

A new, locally owned and independent bar and restaurant is opening in Fort Pierce soon. Bearded Brother Taphouse & Eatery is coming to the area via restaurateurs and brothers Gaetano and Liborio Traina.

The Traina brothers have been in the restaurant business their whole lives, Gaetano shared with FFBW. They've mostly been focused on Italian cuisine, but now they are expanding their wheelhouse to include a broad concept that will offer locally brewed beers and broad menu. Additionally, Bearded Brothers will serve wine by the bottle and glass.

Bearded Brothers will feature 19 taps, 15 of which will exclusively serve Floridian beers. The other four will be a rotating selection of whatever the Traina's pick from their distributer. The food menu will be broad, encompassing wings, flatbreads, sandwiches, burgers, soups, salads, fish and much more.

Currently in the build-out phase of opening, the Traina's are hoping to be operational by March.

Repicci's Italian Ice

A new dessert and sweet treat food truck is opening soon in Port St. Lucie. Franchisees Mita Gonzalez and Kyle Pollifrone told FFBW that the truck would likely open in mid February.

Initially, they will operate Repicci's in Port St. Lucie, but they plan to relocate to Tampa in late May. Once there, they will likely expanding into another truck and continue serving gelato, Italian ices, coffee, tea and hot chocolate in the Tampa Bay area.

Some of the franchised trucks are equipped to serve Italian sandwiches and meatball subs. This particular truck will be focused only on desserts, but Mita and Kyle plan to include the sandwiches on their second truck's menu.

The Repicci's Italian Ice brand has been in business for over 30 years, and as of now, there are only three of their trucks in Florida.
