Alessi Bakery Set to Reopen in New Tampa Location
After more than a century, this bakery is relocating and expanding into a multi-concept food destination.
TAMPA, FL - Alessi Bakery is preparing to reopen at its new home at 3003 W. Cypress Street, Tampa, FL 33609, with a soft opening planned for April 14 and a grand opening on April 15, Phillip Alessi Jr. told Business Debut. The move comes just one block from its longtime location and marks a major evolution for the 100-plus-year-old business.
Business Debut heard of this story first from That's So Tampa.
What to Expect
The new concept expands beyond a traditional bakery into a multi-faceted food destination. Guests can expect a bakery, deli, catering operation, and a new food market featuring a full liquor bar, Woodstone oven pizza, and a rotisserie program with a new cooking style introduced from Australia, Alessi told Business Debut.
The 18,000-square-foot space will offer more than 120 seats across indoor and outdoor areas, along with open-air kitchens. Customers will encounter a split layout with sweet offerings on one side and savory on the other, along with live cake decorating visible to guests.

Menu and Vision
Menu offerings will span quick-service, restaurant-quality meals including Cuban sandwiches, roast pork, chicken piccata, salads, and prepared meals served in a fast-casual format. The bakery will continue to highlight its cakes and its signature scotchata, a room-temperature pizza that remains a longtime customer favorite, Alessi told Business Debut.
The cafe component will introduce coffee drinks, acai bowls, smoothies, milkshakes, and fresh yogurt options. “We’re just maintaining the quality, consistency, customer service and carrying on the traditions,” Alessi told Business Debut.

Family Legacy
Founded in 1912 by Niccolo “Nando” Alessi after immigrating from Sicily, the business has grown into a four-generation operation now led by Alessi. The brand will celebrate more than 114 years in business this year, with a fifth generation already involved.
Alessi credited his predecessors for building the foundation of the business and emphasized the importance of honoring that legacy while evolving the concept. Inside the new space, guests will see a visual timeline of the family’s history displayed throughout the building.
Opening Timeline
The original location at 2909 W. Cypress Street will close on April 11 after 53 years of service, with the new location opening days later. The relocation represents what Alessi described as a long-awaited vision for the family and team.
Hours
Alessi Bakery will open seven days a week from 6:30 a.m. - 6:30 p.m., with extended evening hours for select areas including the bar, pizza, and rotisserie offerings.
