Hob Nob Drive In
Address: 1701 N. Washington Blvd, Sarasota, FL 34234
Status: Targeting late March.
What to expect: Fast-casual tribute to the original Hob Nob—counter service plus self-order kiosks; dine-in, takeout, delivery, and catering.
Menu highlights: Classic drive-in lineup—burgers, fries, onion rings, milkshakes.
Hours: Aiming for daily 11 a.m. opens; closing 7–8 p.m. (final hours to confirm).
Who’s behind it: Led by majority owner Troy King; project shared by Dimitris Syros (Breakfast Company).

Hanami Japanese Fine Dining & Lounge
Address: 1525 4th St, Unit C, Sarasota, FL 34236
Status: Opening in the coming weeks, pending final inspections.
What to expect: Full-service Japanese fine dining with a 60-seat lounge; ~135 seats at launch, with mezzanine and garden dining to follow. Historic 1925 building shaped the design.
Menu highlights: Expanded take on Tsunami favorites—vegan sushi menu, fresh fish, hibachi cooked tableside. Filet mignon across steak offerings (except short rib), plus pineapple fried rice, galbi, and modernized orange chicken.

Treehouse Flowers, Coffee & Wine
Address: 1551 Lakefront Dr, Unit 102, Sarasota, FL 34240
Status: Targeting the weekend before Mother’s Day (around May 8).
What to expect: All-day café-wine-floral hybrid; ~33–35 seats inside plus 8 on the patio. Counter service forward with a small retail boutique and fresh bouquets.
Menu highlights: Coffee drinks, baked goods, breakfast sandwiches, charcuterie, small plates, wine and champagne—“brunch all day” vibe.
Hours: Mon–Thu 7 a.m.–8 p.m.; Fri 7 a.m.–9 p.m.; Sat 8 a.m.–9 p.m.; Sun 10 a.m.–5 p.m.

Coastal Grind Coffee
Address: 2661 Mall Dr, Sarasota, FL 34231
Status: Aiming for first or second week of February.
What to expect: Neighborhood café with 24–26 seats; mix of counter and table service. Espresso drinks (hot/iced) and made-to-order crepes.
Menu highlights: Savory shrimp–avocado–tomato crepe with chipotle sauce; sweet options like Nutella–banana and “Dubai chocolate.” Mimosas and mimosa flights.
Who’s behind it: Owner Rebecca Drescher with husband Robert Foster. Tableside “slow pour” coffee experience with beans ground and brewed at the table.

Coach’s Bar and Grill

Status: Planning to open soon, initially looking at early / mid February.
What to expect: Family-friendly, restaurant-first bar and grill; ~100 seats inside plus ~40 on the patio. TVs tuned to local and regional sports; community-focused with ongoing discounts for schools, first responders, and military.
Menu highlights: From-scratch menu—ribeye, jumbo lump crab cakes, lobster rolls, wings, Cajun pasta; cheeseburger/Reuben egg rolls; half-pound burgers; seafood salads; weekday rotating lunch specials.
Hours: Daily, with initial hours around 11 a.m.–11 p.m.; weekends may extend; potential brunch around 8:30–9 a.m.
Who’s behind it: Owner Rob Burton (formerly Coach’s Corner Grill in Loudoun County, VA) with wife Jennifer and daughter Brooke.
