Here’s what’s new around St. Pete and the beaches: two now open spots to visit tonight, plus three coming soon to put on your map. Mythos Greek Bistro and The Book Lounge (more bookstore and drinks than restaurant) are fully live; Chez Victor, Bob’s Side Piece, and Chocolate Bistro are next up with clear timelines.

Mythos Greek Bistro

Opening: Now open at 2501 Central Ave, St. Petersburg, FL 33713

What to expect: Patio-forward Greek bistro with pergola, lounge areas, and upgraded lighting. Inside has roughly five tables; total capacity around 150. Select late-night programming with live music, DJs, singers, and dancers. Possible hookah after 9–10 p.m.

Menu & Drinks: Greek classics and housemade spreads—branzino with spinach rice, seafood orzo, grilled octopus and calamari, tzatziki, hummus, spicy feta. Desserts include orange pie; full list to follow.

Hours: Closed Monday. Tue–Sun 4 p.m.–11 p.m.; Thu–Sat late night until 3 a.m. Lunch to be added post-launch.

The Book Lounge

Opening: Now open at 631 Central Ave, St. Petersburg, FL 33701

What to expect: Fiction bookstore + café + board game lounge in a 1,300-sq.-ft. space. Seating for about 38–46. 100+ games with Thursday community gaming nights.

Menu & Drinks: Wine, coffee, specialty teas, and frosé from local vendors. Light bites like charcuterie, local desserts, and “cakes in a can,” with approachable pricing.

Hours: Tue–Thu 11 a.m.–9 p.m.; Fri–Sat 11 a.m.–10 p.m.; Sun 11 a.m.–8 p.m.; closed Monday.

Chez Victor

Opening: Targeting before December 30 at 5050 Gulf Blvd, St. Pete Beach, FL 33706

What to expect: Full-service French café vibe with approximately 30–50 seats. Third location following Largo and Clearwater. Approachable atmosphere for locals and visitors.

Menu & Drinks: French breakfast and lunch classics—crepes, quiche, and more—prepared simply and authentically. Dinner service may be added on select days after launch.

Hours: Seven days a week, 8 a.m.–4 p.m. (subject to adjustment).

Bob’s Side Piece

Opening: Early February at 6716 Central Ave, St. Petersburg, FL 33707

What to expect: Old-school Italian pizzeria and bar with table service, full bar, outdoor seating, and delivery. Inside seating for roughly 50–60 guests.

Menu & Drinks: Classic round pies plus specialty pizzas in testing (e.g., mozzarella, black truffles, mushrooms; cheesesteak pie under consideration). Pizza of the month, baked wings, garlic knots from Delosa’s recipe, and scratch-made subs like chicken cutlet and roast pork Italiano.

Hours: Tentatively seven days. Sun–Thu 11 a.m.–10 p.m.; Fri–Sat 11 a.m.–11 p.m.; delivery 4 p.m. to close daily.

Chocolate Bistro

Opening: Early January at 1004 Broadway, Dunedin, FL 34698

What to expect: Intimate dessert café with 12–16 indoor seats plus patio; “Frenchy, moody” design. Feature wall of 362 postcard boxes crafted from reclaimed 1905 wood for future-dated mailings.

Menu & Drinks: Made-to-order desserts: Belgian waffles with customizable toppings, personal fondue, hot-chocolate–covered local strawberries, and croffles. Light savories like ham-and-cheese croissant; rotating Sunday cupcakes.

Hours: Mon–Thu 11 a.m.–9 p.m.; Fri–Sun 2 p.m.–10 p.m. (may adjust after opening).
