4 New Broward County Restaurants in the Works
The first to open will be Talkin' Tacos on Dec 5th in Coconut Creek.
1. Talkin’ Tacos
Address: 6870 N State Rd 7, Coconut Creek, FL 33073 (opening Friday, December 5th)
Address: 7780 Griffin Rd, Suite 110/111, Davie, FL 33328 (opening late December)
What to expect: Fast-casual, Halal Mexican street food with late-night service planned until 2 a.m.
Menu highlights: Birria-forward lineup plus birria ramen, birria grilled cheese, and new birria mac and cheese. Specialty lemonades and horchata (non-alcoholic).
History: Founded in 2020 as a food truck and expanding across Florida and multiple states.
Expansion: Expansion will continue in South Florida with Miami Springs (3700 NW 42nd Ave.) which is the first drive-thru opening early 2026 and South Beach (334 Lincoln Rd.) opening early 2026.
2. Smalls Sliders
Address: Downtown Fort Lauderdale (exact site TBA), Broward County, FL
Status: First Broward “Can” targeted for Q3 2026; a second unit planned ~90 days later. Site work (possible demo/regrading) could add 3–6 months.
What to expect: Shipping-container restaurants (“Cans”) built for speed. Simple menu with quick counter service.
Menu highlights: Cooked-to-order cheeseburger sliders, seasoned waffle fries, and hand-spun milkshakes. Quality and value are the focus.
Who’s behind it: Stacked Hospitality partners Joe Sloboda, Stanley Tsung, and Gustavo Bursztyn. Sloboda says the team will be hands-on in development and operations.
This will be the first Smalls Sliders location in Broward under the new six-unit deal.
3. Blue Crab Shack & Seafood
Address: 2602 E. Hallandale Beach Blvd, Hallandale Beach, FL 33009
Status: Pre–grand opening Nov 22; official opening Jan 2, 2026. Second location for the brand.
What to expect: Full-service waterfront spot with indoor/outdoor seating (~123 seats), a full bar, and a 90-minute table limit. Later hours and a larger menu than the original takeout-only shop.
Menu highlights: Steam-only program (“we steam in beer, never boil”) featuring snow crab legs, shrimp, and more. Maryland-style lump crab cakes baked and broiled, plus a late-night menu.
Who’s behind it: Owner Barry Baker, a former trucking pro, with wife Carlene Milford. Community demand pushed the expansion from a weekend idea to a full business.
This will be Blue Crab Shack & Seafood’s second location and first full-service restaurant.
4. Origins Cafe
Address: 6805 W Commercial Blvd, Tamarac, FL 33319
Status: In permitting; targeting a mid-January soft opening, pending permits and roaster install.
What to expect: Compact coffee bar with onsite roasting, Wi-Fi, and roughly eight seats plus counter spots inside a 1,040-sq-ft space. Minimal buildout since the room is mostly open.
Menu highlights: Hot and iced pour overs, prepackaged pastries, and beans from multiple origins. Jamaica Blue Mountain anchors the program alongside Kenya, Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, the Dominican Republic, and Costa Rica.
Who’s behind it: David Levy, with contributions from his children Damian (marketing) and Rachelle. Levy also distributes Jamaica Blue Mountain through his import business.

Yes, while the initial deal with Small's Sliders is for 6 "cans," franchisee Joe Sloboda reported that they intend to open several more than 6.
Additionally, Talkin' Tacos plans to open in Miami Springs and South Beach next year.
