We have four new concepts worth keeping an eye on Duval County. Check out the details below on the new coffee shop, pizzeria, full service southern dining restaurant and a new burgers, fries, and shakes spot.

Morning Oil Coffee

Opening: Soft opening Jan. 1; grand opening Feb. 1 at: 700 E Union St, Unit 151, Jacksonville, FL 32206 (inside The Workhouse)

What to expect: A trades-focused “coffee yard” with foundational coffee drinks, hearty breakfast and lunch, and pre-ordered sack lunches for job sites. Free coffee for crews during Monday safety meetings (5–9 a.m.). Limited evening hours with beer/wine, contractor meetups, and storytelling nights to follow.

Menu & Drinks: Direct-sourced Guatemalan beans (including award-winning farms). Straightforward espresso, drip, cappuccinos, and lattes; simple, filling breakfast and lunch. Parent brand plans include Jobsite Energy drinks and water.

Hours: Mon–Fri 5 a.m.–3 p.m.; Sat–Sun 7 a.m.–1 p.m. (evening hours to be added).

Emangeo’s Brick Oven Pizza

Opening: Opening very soon at: 10920 Baymeadows Rd, Jacksonville, FL 32256

What to expect: About 70 seats. Likely fast casual with runners by day and possible full service at night (final model TBD). Beer and wine planned. Feature wall shares the brand’s “road to Jacksonville,” ending with a mock-up of the original food trailer.

Menu & Drinks: Gas-fired brick oven (not wood-fired). New Haven– and New York–style pizzas, slices, calzones, plus Italian staples like spaghetti, fettuccine Alfredo, lasagna, and wings.

Hours: Planned daily 11 a.m.–9 p.m.

Oxford Place

Opening: Winter (targeting late 2025 to early 2026) at: 2902 Corinthian Ave, Jacksonville, FL

What to expect: ~2,900 sq. ft. in the historic Oxford & Corinthian building with seating for roughly 120 across indoor, outdoor, and a full bar. Refined yet relaxed Southern hospitality from the team behind Bold Birds Nashville Hot Chicken. Dinner service launches first; brunch to follow.

Menu & Drinks: Seasonally inspired Southern fare—New Orleans-style barbecue shrimp, grit soufflé with bacon beurre blanc, blackened redfish with Hoppin’ John. Signature cocktails, curated wines, and a happy hour program.

Hours: Dinner at launch; brunch later (final hours TBA).

Sip N Smash

Location: 7540 Gate Pkwy, Jacksonville, FL 32256

What to expect: New fast-casual spot from local operator Jason Malih, who is associated with several area food-and-beverage businesses, including the Jacksonville location of Talkin’ Tacos. Concept details drawn from permitting records that the Jax Daily Record reported here.
