Chic’s Bakery — Norcross

Address: 5510 Spalding Drive Unit C, Norcross, GA 30092

Status: Targeting an opening by the end of March.

What to expect: Second location of Panaderia Chic’s Bakery combining a traditional bakery with an expanded Central American kitchen. The Norcross shop will place stronger emphasis on savory food compared to the Doraville original.

Menu highlights: Pastries alongside tacos, quesadillas, empanadas, flautas, soups and stews. Breakfast egg plates prepared with traditional ingredients like tomatoes, onions and jalapeños will also be offered.

Hours: Planned daily 6 a.m.–8 p.m.

Alta Brasa Tacos — Lawrenceville

Address: 102 Stanley Ct Suite A & B, Lawrenceville, GA 30046

Status: Targeting an early next month opening.

What to expect: Full-service restaurant with about 80 seats featuring a focused taco menu and full bar. The concept blends Brazilian preparation styles with Mexican taco traditions. Late-night karaoke is also planned.

Menu highlights: Tacos made with prime cuts of meat, plus appetizers and sides. Bar offerings will include cocktails, beer and liquor.

Hours: Planned daily with closing around 11 p.m. Sunday–Thursday and 2 a.m. on weekends.

Porterhouse Grill — Buford

Address: 3217 Buford Dr, Buford, GA 30519

Status: Targeting an opening around April 15 (pending licensing approvals).

What to expect: Third location of the steakhouse brand and its largest yet at roughly 7,500 square feet with seating for about 300 guests. Designed for business dinners, celebrations and family gatherings near the Mall of Georgia.

Menu highlights: USDA prime and Angus steaks, fresh seafood, classic steakhouse sides, handcrafted cocktails and an extensive wine selection.

Hours: Expected to mirror the Athens location with daily lunch service and dinner until around 9 p.m. on weekdays and later on weekends.

Xochitl Mexican Restaurant — Buford

Address: 33 Buford Village Way Suite 311, Buford, GA 30518

Status: Soft opening now with grand opening expected in about two weeks.

What to expect: Family-run Mexican restaurant with a full bar, indoor seating for roughly 180 guests, and a patio overlooking the city event lawn. A semi-private dining room will accommodate group gatherings.

Menu highlights: Traditional Mexican and Tex-Mex dishes including homemade tamales, ramen birria, nachos and margaritas made with fresh lime juice. Tequila selections from Jalisco will also be featured.

Hours: Monday–Thursday 11 a.m.–10 p.m.; Friday–Saturday 11 a.m.–11 p.m.; Sunday 11 a.m.–10 p.m.
