Wondergrounds Play Cafe, a 4,500-square-foot play space and cafe designed for families, is set to open this summer at 1041 Bruce B Downs Blvd, Wesley Chapel, FL 33544 according to owner Mahmoud Shublaq.

Nearly half of the facility will be dedicated to three indoor play areas tailored for children from six months to ten years old. Younger children will enjoy soft play zones, while older kids can explore an imaginative play area.

It will feature six 7’ x 10’ themed playhouses, including an ice cream shop and a fire station with a light-up fire truck and more. Additional features include slides, climbers, and specialized spaces for children with sensory sensitivities or autism, such as wall puzzles and no-screen, low-light zones.

The environment will be designed to be calming and parent-friendly, with natural wood finishes, neutral tones, and easily disinfected leather seating. The setup is intended to help parents relax while watching their children play safely.

Shublaq was inspired to create Wondergrounds Play Cafe when he found that nothing like it previously existed in Wesley Chapel. He wanted to provide a safe, enriching play environment for his own children, he told Business Debut.

A full coffee bar will wrap around the play space, serving coffee, pastries, and cakes. The cafe will seat approximately 30 people. A private birthday party room will be available for rent, with flexible options for families to bring their own supplies or have the cafe handle the details.

Wondergrounds Play Cafe will be open for walk-ins and offer membership options. It will operate seven days a week from 9 am – 7 pm.
