WASHINGTON, GA -- Washington Coffee Cottage, which has a location in Lincolnton, is preparing to open at 22 West Square, Washington, GA 30673, owner Robin Verginio told Business Debut in a recent phone interview.

Verginio said she is targeting an opening around Thanksgiving, pending completion of interior renovations.

What to Expect

The Washington Coffee Cottage will occupy a brick storefront on the square that previously housed a coffee concept. She said the space has undergone a full renovation, including new floors and replacement front windows.

Inside, customers can expect seating built around custom woodwork and a design that leans into a rustic, mountain-style theme with black walnut counter tops.

Verginio said Washington will carry the same coffee offerings as the original Coffee Cottage in Lincolnton. “We're gonna have all the coffees and all the things that we have already in Lincolnton,” Verginio said.

She plans to add a breakfast component in Washington. Her goal is to offer Washington residents options they do not currently have and then adjust based on demand.

Ownership Background

Verginio said she spent about seven years working in another business before opening Coffee Cottage in Lincolnton.

With support from local officials and her husband, she purchased and converted a former dry cleaner and post office building in Lincolnton into the first Coffee Cottage, including a drive-thru that often wraps around the building, she shared.

Residents and the mayor in Washington later began asking her to open a location on the square, and after, prayer and several months of discussions with the city and the building owner, Verginio decided to move forward.

She said the Washington shop will be a smaller-scale replica of the Lincolnton location, adapted for the historic square.

Opening Timeline

Verginio said her espresso machines are scheduled for delivery and most equipment is already on site.

She is targeting opening by Thanksgiving, though that could change based on how quickly interior renovations continue.

Hours

Coffee Cottage in Washington plans to open six days a week.

Verginio said initial hours will match her Lincolnton shop: 7 a.m. — 4 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8 a.m. — 2 p.m. Saturday.

She said she will monitor traffic patterns and may adjust hours based on how Washington responds.
