HOLLY HILL, FL — Award-winning food truck Double Dippin' is preparing a brick-and-mortar restaurant at 235 Riverside Dr Suite 85, Holly Hill, FL 32117, owner Alyssa Allred told Business Debut in a phone interview. Allred said she is targeting December for the opening.

Allred has operated the Double Dippin' food truck for four years. She said the truck gained recognition with multiple awards and three nominations in the Daytona Beach News-Journal Best of the Best program.

The concept’s name comes from Allred’s twin daughters. “I'm a single mom of twins, which is why it's called Double Dippin',” Allred told Business Debut.

What to Expect

The restaurant will build on the food truck’s focus on birria. “Everything on our trailer is birria,” Allred told Business Debut. She said she prepares birria beef and chicken for tacos, grilled cheese sandwiches, quesadillas, and ramen bowls, all built around the same flavor profile.

Allred said early in the food truck’s life she tested a wider menu. Customer response led her to center the concept on birria. “Let me just do the one thing that I'm really good at and do it,” Allred told Business Debut.

Allred has 21 years of kitchen experience and has worked as a chef in multiple roles, she said.

The new restaurant space totals about 1,600 square feet inside with an additional 700-square-foot lanai, Allred shared with Business Debut. She estimated seating for about five tables inside and about six tables outside.

Most of the interior will function as back-of-house. Allred plans a large kitchen with a walk-in cooler and walk-in freezer to support daily service and catering, she said.

The restaurant sits next to Riverside Park in Holly Hill. Allred said she is partnering with Southern Fellow, a local songwriters and musicians collective, to organize ticketed events at the park. Concertgoers will be able to eat at Double Dippin' and enjoy a show in the nearby park.

Opening Timeline

Allred said she is targeting December for opening but described the space as a full interior build-out with AC, firewall, plumbing, and electrical work still ahead. An exact opening date is to be announced.

She plans to keep operating the existing Double Dippin' food truck until the restaurant opens. After launch, Allred expects to pause truck operations for about six months while she focuses on staffing and procedures, then bring the truck back for catering and large events, she said.
