ATLANTA, GA – A new vinyl listening room, restaurant, and bar is preparing to open soon in Atlanta. Find Read the Room at: 691 John Wesley Dobbs Ave NE Unit P, Atlanta, GA 30312 when they open as soon as mid-March. Owner Michael Copenhaver shared that they are moving through the inspection and final approvals before they open.

What to Expect

Copenhaver shared that the business will be centered around their vinyl shop, good music, craft cocktails and food. Guests will enter Read the Room's split level art-deco space with choice to go upstairs to the bar and kitchen, or downstairs into what Copenhaver calls the "Assembly Area." This will be where the heart of Read the Room's concept lies: vinyl records.

Copenhaver intends to offer a selection of obscure music along with the top 40 favorites. Expect everything from the familiar to the lesser known records flowing from the West African disco-funk scene. Guests will also be able to consign records and enjoy a more lounge-oriented atmosphere in the evenings.

Expect the menu of hand-held foods and craft cocktails. The food will center around dishes similar to arepas, samosas, West African puff-puffs and more.

While in the "Assembly Area," shoppers will be able to order food and drinks from the floor above to be brought down.

Hours

Expect Read the Room to be open Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday 12 p.m. - 12 a.m., and Friday and Saturday they will close at 1 a.m.

Opening Timeline

If progress continues normally, Read the Room hopes to open around mid / late March.
