Vietnamese Street Food Concept Planning to North Atlanta Locations
Banh Mi 135 will bring its sandwiches to Doraville and Norcross.
NORCROSS, GA — Banh Mi 135 is preparing to open two new locations. The first will open in the next month in Doraville at: 5175 Buford Hwy NE, Doraville, GA 30340.
The next unit in the pipeline is preparing to start construction at 6110 Oakbrook Pkwy #103, Norcross, GA 30093. Co-owner Minh Ly told Business Debut they are targeting an opening between July and August. Ly is partnered with co-owners of the brand Tony Le and Dung “Sushi” Le.
What to Expect
Banh Mi 135 focuses primarily on Vietnamese banh mi sandwiches, along with Vietnamese coffee, sugar cane juice and select snacks. Service is designed to be fast and casual, with counter ordering and limited seating for guests who choose to dine in.
The brand also offers bundle promotions, including a buy-five-get-one-free option designed for families and group gatherings. A limited selection of boba drinks will also be available.
Menu and Vision
The concept is rooted in the owners’ upbringing in Vietnam, where banh mi was one of the most affordable and filling meals available. Minh Le said that growing up in the countryside, food was limited and daily spending money was tight. A banh mi sandwich, often costing the equivalent of about 25 cents, could keep him full for most of the day.
“We could be full for the whole entire day,” he told Business Debut.
That experience shaped the brand’s mission to elevate banh mi as a recognizable Vietnamese staple. The team hopes that when people hear “banh mi,” they immediately associate it with Vietnam, similar to how sushi is tied to Japan or kimchi to Korea.
The name “135” originated from the original unit number of the first store. The founders also noted the cultural significance of the ascending odd numbers and the connection to the three business partners.
Banh Mi 135 currently operates a Duluth location.
Opening Timeline
The Doraville location is expected to open within one month. The Norcross restaurant is targeting a July or August opening, pending construction progress.
