Tropical Smoothie Cafe Opening in Doral This August

Smoothies, wraps, and flatbreads highlight new Doral cafe focused on quick service, convenience, and future expansion plans.

DORAL, FL — A new Tropical Smoothie Cafe is targeting an August opening at 8173 Northwest 107th Avenue Suite 103, Doral, FL 33178, owned by Faustino Lopez and his wife Maria Lopez. The couple, who also operate a location in Hialeah, are expanding with their second cafe as part of their growing footprint with the brand, Lopez told Business Debut.

What to Expect

Tropical Smoothie Cafe, founded in 1992, is known for smoothies, wraps, and flatbreads with a health-forward focus. The Doral location will follow the brand’s standard format, offering a streamlined menu designed for quick service and convenience.

The space will be approximately 1,200 square feet with seating for about 15 guests, making it a smaller footprint than traditional locations, Lopez told Business Debut.

Guests can expect popular smoothies like the Bahama Mama and Sunrise Sunset, along with food items such as the Chipotle Chicken Club and Chicken Bacon Ranch flatbread. The menu also includes wraps like the Super Green Caesar and hot chicken options, Lopez told Business Debut.

Lopez said his interest in the brand began during the COVID-19 pandemic after being furloughed from his role as an IT director in the aviation industry. Encouraged by his wife, he began exploring business ownership and discovered Tropical Smoothie Cafe after trying the product firsthand.

“We sat there for hours just watching the line and what attracted people to it,” Lopez told Business Debut. “At that point I said, this is a great idea.”
