LESLIE, GA — TootieMaw’s Hotdawgs and More, a new locally owned restaurant from Amanda O’Connor, will open November 10 at 157 Seaboard St, Leslie, GA 31764, O’Connor told Business Debut. The fast-casual concept will bring a hometown dining spot to the small community of about 300 residents.

What to Expect

The restaurant’s design draws inspiration from the nearby railroad tracks, with a building that resembles a train caboose and a menu styled like an old-fashioned dining car. Guests can expect familiar comfort foods including hamburgers and hot dogs, along with southern staples such as chicken salad, pimento cheese, and potato salad.

O’Connor said the menu will grow over time to include rotating “country meal of the day” specials featuring farm-fresh vegetables and meats sourced from local farmers. “We want to incorporate local produce and make dishes that feel like home,” she told Business Debut.

Indoor seating will accommodate about 12 guests, with another eight seats available outdoors. Guests can dine in or take their meals to go.

The restaurant’s early menu will center on simple, made-from-scratch dishes. O’Connor’s signature chicken salad and her wife Amy’s favorite, a BLT nicknamed the “Heart Racer,” will appear on the menu.

O’Connor said she hopes the restaurant will become a gathering place for residents. “Leslie doesn’t have a restaurant right now,” she said. “My family has lived here our whole lives, and we just want to feed the people of Leslie.”

Ownership and Family Involvement

TootieMaw’s Hotdawgs and More is owned by Amanda and Amy O’Connor. Amanda manages daily operations, while Amy handles bookkeeping and product ordering. Amanda’s sister, Sylvia Holt, will assist with cooking and daily service. Their mother, Sylvia Hudson, will contribute her homemade fried apple pies, a family favorite that O’Connor plans to feature regularly.

The restaurant’s name comes from Amanda’s lifelong nickname, “TootieMaw,” given to her by her father. “I’ve been Tootie my whole life,” she said. “It just felt right to name the restaurant after that.”

Opening Timeline

The grand opening is scheduled for November 10.
