Tides Turning Food Trailer Opening in Horseshoe Beach
Seafood sandwiches, shrimp dishes, burgers, and casual fare will highlight the menu at this food trailer.
HORSESHOE BEACH, FL — Tides Turning Food Trailer is set to open Tuesday, April 7 at 11 a.m. on Main Street in Horseshoe Beach, owned and operated by Jill and Tyler Futch. The new venture marks a return to the food industry for the couple following years of hurricane-related setbacks, Jill Futch told Business Debut.
What to Expect
Tides Turning will operate as a food trailer parked regularly on Main Street, with occasional appearances at local festivals. The concept centers on approachable seafood and casual fare, drawing from Futch’s background in seafood-focused cooking, she told Business Debut.
Guests can expect a menu of seafood sandwiches, burgers, and everyday staples with a personal touch. The trailer will also offer limited outdoor seating nearby, with additional seating available at waterfront pavilions a few roads away, Futch shared with Business Debut.
Menu and Vision
Menu highlights include a coconut shrimp rice bowl featuring tropical rice, roasted peppers, pineapple, and a house sauce, along with a shrimp burger made from fresh ground shrimp formed into a patty and seared with a blackened flavor. Futch said these items are expected to be staples.
Breakfast will be available on Saturdays, including breakfast bowls, casseroles, and a shrimp-based take on a breakfast sandwich inspired by a previous crab cake offering.
Futch brings nine years of restaurant ownership experience from operating The Shrimp Boat in Horseshoe Beach, which closed following Hurricane Idalia. Prior to entering the restaurant industry, she worked as a dental assistant for 17 years before opening her first restaurant in 2016, she told Business Debut.
Name and Community Focus
The name “Tides Turning” reflects both a personal and community-wide reset following multiple hurricanes that impacted Horseshoe Beach. “We just feel like the tide has turned for us moving forward,” Futch told Business Debut.
Futch said returning to the food business is about more than just reopening—it’s about reconnecting with a community that has supported her family through years of challenges. “We’re excited to get back in it and to serve our community,” she told Business Debut.
That sentiment is reflected in the trailer’s guiding phrase, “Anchored in faith, served with love,” which Futch said represents both their values and their commitment to Horseshoe Beach.
