Thousand Sunny, Rosebud Boca, Cluck Face, and More Restaurant News

Welcome to the third edition of Florida Food and Beverage Weekly! This week, as always, we’ve turned up some exciting new concepts coming to South Florida. Keep your eyes peeled!

DADE COUNTY

Thousand Sunny

Owner Bin Chen recently described Thousand Sunny as a “totally new concept” over the phone with FFBW. They are about to begin remodeling their space in Pinecrest at 9545 S Dixie Hwy. Chen estimates that the work will take four to five months and they will open shortly thereafter.

Thousand Sunny will be a sit down restaurant, Chen told us. Other details are being kept under wraps for now. But stay on the lookout for more info.

PALM BEACH COUNTY

Mama Claire’s Jamaican Restaurant & Grill

West Palm Beach will be welcoming a new Jamaican spot this summer, owner Couniell Taylor confirmed with FFBW. Currently, they are building out their space, and Taylor plans to open sometime in June. A hard date isn’t available as of now.

Expect to find the eatery at 2800 N Military Trl.

Vicky Bakery

Another location of Vicky Bakery is coming to West Palm Beach, according to franchisee Wady Tactuk. The new unit is in the process of getting permits and commencing construction. Tactuk estimates that they will be open in 3-4 months. This is Tactuk’s first location; he and his wife, however, are the franchisee’s for West Palm Beach, and they hope to open more in the future.

Expect to find the unit at 10113 Southern Blvd #200.

Cluck Face

This new concept is scheduled to arrive in Boca Raton, according to owner Sabri Arslankara. Details about the restaurant are still under wraps, but we know they will be coming to 1179 S Federal Hwy, and we are assuming the concept will serve chicken in some capacity; it’d be a bit odd if they didn’t given the name.

Arslankara is also the owner of Pizzava in Reno, Nevada. Check back for more details when they emerge.

518 Market Place

Owner Loralyn Shore described 518 Market Place to FFBW as a “health and wellness center for people and pets.” The concept is an ambitious blend of market place, delivery service, and cafe that is dedicated to providing healthy, nutritious food and products for pets and their owners.

According to Shore, you can expect their offerings to be free of preservatives, 100% naturally flavored, and organic. Pet food will be sold onsite and delivered at regular intervals, tailored to the nutrition needs of your pet.

In the marketplace, you will find a cafe serving breakfast and lunch that will have a seating area.

They expect to open April 2nd at 518 W Lantana Rd.

Zipitios Mesoamerican

Zipitios is expanding its reach in South Florida soon, according to owner Ricardo Perez. Zipitios’ current location is in the Grandview Public Market, but in two-to-three weeks, they will open a larger location at 2676 Florida Ave.

Once the new unit is open, they will begin serving a very similar menu to the one currently offered at the food hall. Subsequently, the food hall outlet will begin serving hand rolled taquitos, Mexico City-style brazed meats, and ceviche.

DisDWet Restaurant

A new Haitian restaurant is coming to town this summer, according to owner Wilphanie Alcegaire. FFBW spoke with Alcegaire on Monday to confirm that she plans to open the doors sometime in June.

She will serve a Haitian cuisine. Expect to find DisDWet at 1403 Boynton Beach Blvd.

Rosebud Boca

An Illinois-based eatery is establishing itself in Boca Raton soon, according to filings with the DBPR and the Secretary of State. Rosebud Boca is part of Rosebud Restaurants, of which there are seven locations. They offer upscale/casual Italian dining. You can find their website here.

FFBW reached out to Alex Dana, founder and president of Rosebud Restaurants for more details, and we are still waiting to hear back. Expect them to open at 150 E Palmetto Park Rd.

BROWARD COUNTY

Parfit Coconut Creek

A new entertainment, bar, and restaurant concept is expanding into Coconut Creek soon, according recent filings with the DBPR. Parfit, a brand out of Naples, is planning to open up shop at the Promenade at Coconut Creek.

We can expect five golfing simulators, a putting green, a pool table, and ping pong, along with food and drinks. The brand is led by Ryan and Joni Middleton. FFBW reached out to Ryan Middleton, and we are waiting on him to provide more information. When they will open is unknown currently.

Federal SPA and Restaurant

A new concept is planned for Hollywood, according to owner Yevgen Yatsenko. Federal SPA and Restaurant is planned to appear at 1203 N Federal Hwy. Yatsenko reports that construction will begin this fall, with a goal of opening in fall 2024.

Expect a classy blend of relaxation and fine dining. As Yatsenko told FFBW: “This upscale destinations aims to provide an unparalleled experience for food enthusiasts and relaxation-seekers alike.”

The fine dining restaurant will feature a yet-to-be-announced acclaimed chef, meat and fish options, and seasonal and local offerings. In addition to saunas, steam rooms, and a Japanese bath, expect a pool, jacuzzi, and sun beds.
