ROCKY MOUNT, NC — Renaissance Rooftop is targeting a June opening at 118 South Pearl Street, Rocky Mount, NC 27804, bringing a rooftop restaurant, bar and event venue to downtown Rocky Mount.

Daniel Bellamy, who owns the business with his wife Tina Bellamy and other investors, told Business Debut the concept is built around culture, music, wellness, hospitality and community connection.

What to expect

The venue is expected to include live music, networking events, wellness mornings, brunch, DJs, poetry, art, fashion, cigars and private gatherings.
Bellamy said the team wants the space to feel elevated without feeling exclusive.

“We really want to offer curated, specific experiences for the community,” Bellamy told Business Debut.

The restaurant will be located on the second floor of the building, with guests entering from the street and taking the stairs up to the rooftop space. Bellamy said the indoor space is expected to seat between 60 and 100 guests, with an additional patio area planned for about 25 to 35 guests.

The food and beverage program will start with curated cocktails, small plates, brunch offerings and other more. The team also plans to collaborate with local chefs and food trucks while the full kitchen program expands.

Bellamy told Business Debut the menu is still being finalized, but the team is planning dishes inspired by Eastern North Carolina, with seafood, lamb chops, crab cakes, seasonal fish and some limited wild game features.

The beverage program is expected to include handcrafted cocktails, rooftop-inspired signature drinks, coffee and wellness beverages during the day, and premium lounge-style offerings at night.

Community and Events

Community will be central to the business, Bellamy told Business Debut. Renaissance Rooftop plans to work with local musicians, artists, chefs, wellness instructors, nonprofits, entrepreneurs, colleges and community leaders.

A typical day could include rooftop fitness in the morning, networking in the afternoon, and live music or nightlife programming in the evening, according to the Q&A shared with Business Debut.

Bellamy said the team also plans to partner with local colleges for culinary training opportunities and work with local vendors when possible.

Opening Timeline

Renaissance Rooftop is targeting a June opening, Bellamy told Business Debut. The team is also planning a soft opening period of at least 30 days before fully rolling out all programming.

Hours

Planned hours are to be announced. Bellamy told Business Debut the team is currently planning to operate six days a week.
