A new dessert shop is coming soon to Rockmart. The Rock Creamery, a faith-based ice cream parlor, is preparing to open at 126 S Marble St, Rockmart, GA 30153, potentially as early as the last week of August, according to co-owner John Vaughn, who spoke with Business Debut.

The shop is currently undergoing equipment installations and inspections. Freezers and sinks have already been delivered, and if all goes as planned, the business will be ready to serve customers once it opens.

The concept will be serving Hershey’s ice cream, milkshakes, and floats.

The shop’s name and mission are rooted in Christian faith. It is inspired by the biblical passage Matthew 7:24: "Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock."

The name “The Rock Creamery” draws from the symbolism of building on a firm foundation. “Our overall objective is not just to sell ice cream to make money,” Vaughn shared. “It is to reach as many people as possible, while serving them and selling them ice cream.”

The Rock Creamery ownership includes Vaughn and Chris Bailey as primary shareholders. Jeremy and Susanna Davis, residents of Rockmart, hold a stake and will manage day-to-day operations. “Chris and I will be more behind the scenes,” John explained, handling inventory and investment responsibilities.
