The Production House at The Ice Cream Barr Opening in Masaryktown
The homemade ice cream brand is breaking into a new market.
MASARYKTOWN, FL — The Production House at The Ice Cream Barr is preparing to open its 3rd location at 410 Broad St, Masaryktown, FL 34604 in the coming weeks. Their other locations are in Brooksville and Homosassa.
Owner Rebekah Barr told Business Debut the team is awaiting a final scheduling date from the health department before announcing its official opening.
What to Expect
The new shop will expand the brand’s capabilities as both an ice cream café and a production space. The concept will follow a fast-casual, window-service format. The outdoor patio can eventually accommodate up to 80 guests, though the team plans to begin with four to five tables and add more over time.
The location will start with its scratch-made ice cream program and continue building out additional offerings, including Mountaineer Coffee, teas, herbal teas, lemonades, and light eats such as locally sourced bagels.
Menu and Vision
Barr emphasized that quality and craft remain central to their menu. “We make all of our sauces, purees, and almost all mix-ins from scratch,” she told Business Debut. The team uses Ghirardelli chocolate, avoids artificial dyes and flavors, and incorporates natural colorings like spinach juice for pistachio ice cream.
The shop will offer classic flavors including chocolate, vanilla, strawberry, and salted caramel made with their homemade butterscotch. Seasonal specials will rotate, including a fresh mint ice cream in March.
Signature sundaes will include a coffee crush sundae and a strawberry shortcake-inspired sundae featuring house made shortbread and real strawberries. During the holidays, guests can expect French hot chocolate made with real chocolate and house made toasted marshmallows.

Ownership and Background
Rebekah and James Barr bring a creative twist to the business, shaped by more than a decade working in the film industry in Los Angeles and Atlanta. “We wanted to eat high quality food but we couldn’t afford it, so we learned how to make it at home,” Rebekah told Business Debut.
Their early kitchen experiments included homemade ice cream for parties and family events, which eventually grew into their full-time venture. The name The Production House is both a nod to their new role as the brand’s ice cream production site and a playful reference to their film past. The patio, which they call “the back lot,” continues the theme.
Opening Timeline
The Production House is targeting an opening in the next few weeks. The exact date is to be announced pending final health department approvals.
Hours
Initial hours will focus on weekends, likely 1–9 p.m. or 1–10 p.m. Morning service with coffee and breakfast items is planned for the future but will depend on staffing, with hours to be announced.
