The Cuban Oven Bringing Fresh Cuban Cuisine to Downtown Hialeah
The restaurant was inspired by the owners’ upbringing and love for Cuban food culture.
HIALEAH, FL — The Cuban Oven is preparing to open at 395 E. 1st Ave., Hialeah, FL 33010, with husband and wife owners Vladimir Sanchez and Maite Capote targeting an early to mid-June opening, Sanchez told Business Debut.
What to Expect
The Cuban Oven will bring a fresh-food approach to Cuban cooking in downtown Hialeah. Sanchez said the restaurant was created to serve the flavors of Cuban cuisine without any frozen foods.
The restaurant will focus on Cuban food made with fresh, natural ingredients, including plantains, pork, Cuban sandwiches and other Cuban staples, Sanchez told Business Debut.
“The Cuban Oven was built on a simple idea to bring the flavors that define the Cuban cuisine,” Sanchez told Business Debut.
The restaurant is opening in a former bakery space. Sanchez said the space is about 1,500 square feet.
Menu and Vision
The menu will include fresh green plantains, sweet plantains, fries, pork and Cuban sandwiches, Sanchez told Business Debut. He said the restaurant will work with produce providers and focus on ingredients that help preserve the flavor of Cuban cooking.

“You can tell the difference in the flavor when it’s fresh and it’s frozen,” Sanchez told Business Debut.
Sanchez said the restaurant was inspired by the food culture he grew up with, including Cuban sandwiches made with fresh pork, ham and cheese. He said Capote, his wife and co-owner, also inspired him to open the restaurant.
Opening Timeline
The Cuban Oven is targeting an opening between the first and second week of June, Sanchez told Business Debut.
Hours
The Cuban Oven plans to open daily from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m., Sanchez told Business Debut.
