The Creamy Spot Bringing Plant Based Ice Cream to Pittsburgh Yards
Entrepreneur Wendy Golding shared updates on her progress in the Pittsburgh Yards.

ATLANTA, GA – The Creamy Spot, a plant-based ice cream concept, is preparing to open a new shipping container location at 352 University Ave SW, Atlanta, GA 30310, inside the Container Courtyard at Pittsburgh Yards. Owner Wendy Golding told Business Debut that she is targeting early September for the opening.
The Creamy Spot will operate out of half of a 40-foot container, neighboring another brand within the Pittsburgh Yards program, which hosts more than a dozen small businesses. The concept is designed as a walk-up creamery with patio seating nearby, evoking the feel of an old-school ice cream counter.
Like Urban Grind’s Brew Box container unit at Pittsburgh Yards, the Creamy Spot will focus on quick-service offerings and a neighborhood-friendly vibe.
Plant-Based Creamery in a Container
The Creamy Spot sets itself apart with completely plant-based ice cream that is free from the nine major allergens, including dairy, soy, gluten, and nuts. The menu spans soft serve, scoops, milkshakes, ice cream sandwiches, and GOAP (Greatest of All Pops) popsicles.
The creamery also experiments with playful viral trends, like the fruit roll-up ice cream wrap, while keeping a rotation of seasonal and locally inspired flavors. About 95–98% of ingredients are sourced from minority-owned farms in Atlanta, making the menu hyperlocal, Golding said.
Staple offerings include their Biscoff ice cream, a best-selling butter pecan, and their “Baked” flavor, a customer favorite that blends red velvet cake, brownies, and cookies into scoop form. Seasonal creations have included blueberry ice cream during harvest season and muscadine ice cream when the fruit is in peak supply.

From Popsicles to Creamery
The Creamy Spot is sister brand to Golding’s, GOAP (Greatest of All Pops), a popsicle company now in its sixth year of business. GOAP popsicles will also be available at the new Pittsburgh Yards location, creating a mashup of the two dessert concepts.
The brand’s journey has taken it through several pop-up style spaces, including La Bodega at The MET and Best End Brewing in the West End. The new Pittsburgh Yards location will mark its third and most permanent space yet.
Opening Hours
While final hours are still being determined, Golding said the shop will likely mirror its previous pop-up schedule. Possible opening in the afternoons and running until around 8 or 9 p.m., with seasonal adjustments.
