Welcome to the first edition of Florida Food and Beverage Weekly! We are excited to present the newest pre-opening restaurants in South Florida.

DADE COUNTY

The Baked Bear

This San Diego-born business will be coming soon the Miami Beach area, at 909 Washington Avenue, according to their website. The franchise specializes in serving frozen treats and baked goods, combining delights like cookies and ice cream. Near the beach, this dessert shop is situated to be a hit.

Co-owner Melanie Bell shared with FFBW that she initially came into contact with the brand in San Diego. Since then, she and her business partners have been working to bring the concept to the Miami area.

Bell projects a March 31st opening. Check the website for more details.

Yume Ramen & Bubble Tea

Cutler Bay will soon welcome Yume to the neighborhood. According to the business’ contractor, they are waiting to pass their health inspection and hope to open within a month.

According to the Division of Corporations, He Weng is the owner of the business. FFBW reached out for more details but has yet to hear back. Expect the business to open at 18515 S Dixie Hwy.

BROWARD COUNTY

Culver’s

Everyone knows Culver's, and a new one is set to open in Cooper City. Franchisee Baron Waller shared with FFBW that they expect to open in early May. He is the franchisee of six other Culver’s locations in Illinois and one other in Lake Park, Florida.

Expect to find the new location at 3700 N University Dr, where the new Shoppes at Monterra Commons is under development.

Kayu Best Caribbean Restaurant

Margate will be welcoming a new Caribbean spot this summer, according to owner Carole Conseillant. Expect to find the new spot at 6450 W Atlantic Blvd.

Conseillant expects to open the doors toward the end of June.

Cucina Moderna

A new concept is coming to Miramar, according to filings with the DBPR. The filing was executed by CAN RESTAURANT GROUP 3, LLC, of which, Chris Vingiano is an owner. FFBW attempted to reach Vingiano, but we haven’t heard back.

The restaurant will appear at 11225 Miramar Pkwy, near World of Beer and Huey Magoo’s locations.

Riko’s Pizza

A new pizza, wings, and salad joint is expanding in Florida. A recent plan review filing with the DBPR confirmed that Riko’s Pizza will be opening 14 N Federal Hwy in Pompano Beach.

Franchisee Jordan Mintz shared with FFBW that they aim to open in July or August. They are currently in the process of permitting.

The brand has several locations in Connecticut and New York, and one other in Florida. The website indicates that they will open this location soon.

Krispy Chicken

A new Korean fried chicken restaurant is coming to the Weston Town Center shopping and entertainment complex. FFBW spoke with owner Joy Kho, who shared that they are amidst construction now, and plan to open in May.

The restaurant will offer brunch, lunch, and dinner options. A staple of their menu will be delicious double-fried Korean-style chicken, in addition to many other offerings. Expect to find them at 1660 Market St, where they will have indoor and outdoor seating.

PALM BEACH COUNTY

Blazn Dough

Belle Glade will soon welcome a new pizza and salad spot to its neighborhood. FFBW spoke with owner Faisal Muslet to confirm that they will likely open at the end of May.

The business will specialize in carry-out pizza and salads. Expect to find them at 309 W Ave A.

Mykonos Grill

A new Greek restaurant is coming to Boca Raton soon, according to the restaurants website. FFBW reached out to Christiana Kavadas, one of the owners, but we haven’t heard back as of now. When they will open is unknown, but their website indicates that they are amidst construction.

Expect to find the new restaurant at 501 NE 20th St.

Berry Fresh Cafe

Berry Fresh Cafe will be expanding to Palm Beach Gardens, according to a filing with the DBPR. The owner Mitchell Timoteo, shared with FFBW that they will open in July.

Expect to find the business in the Shoppes at Oakbrook mall at 11658 US-1. There is currently no mention of the new location on the brand’s website.
