WOODVILLE, NC – Woodville Market & Smokehouse is bringing barbecue and soul food to the community at 102 Oak Dr, Lewiston Woodville, NC 27849. Owner Randy Cherry confirmed to Business Debut that the restaurant and market are targeting an October 1st, 2025, grand opening, with the possibility of a soft opening beforehand.

A Blend of Smokehouse and Market

The business will feature two connected concepts under one roof: a smokehouse serving barbecue favorites and a market offering antiques and locally made goods. The restaurant side will seat around 50 guests, with plans to open the upstairs area, which Cherry described as having the look and feel of a western saloon.

On the market side, shoppers will find antiques, local honey, candles, mugs, and other specialty goods. “Inventory will pick up as we go along,” Cherry said. “We’ve got a lot of antique stuff and unique finds that make the space special.”

The food menu will highlight smoked meats and traditional sides. Offerings include brisket, ribs, Eastern Carolina chopped barbecue, turkey barbecue, and pulled chicken. Beef ribs will also be available as an occasional special. Side dishes will include collard greens, yams, potato salad, and baked beans, with rotating specials such as cabbage or squash.

Opening hours will be from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., Wednesdays through Sundays, covering lunch and dinner.

A Family-Run Venture with Restaurant Roots

Cherry, who previously owned Chief Sports Bar & Grill in Windsor for nearly a decade, is no stranger to the restaurant business. This new project is a family operation, and is owned by him and his wife Beatrice. Their daughter Rheyanna Cherry is the manager of daily operations. Together, they have restored the historic 1900-built property, keeping its vintage charm while updating the floors and interior with reclaimed wood and fresh paint.

The building’s character adds to the experience. “When you walk in, it looks like an old western saloon,” Cherry said. “It gives you a good feeling. It's a nice-looking building when you come in.”
