Slava Cafe & Bakery Bringing Ukrainian Cuisine to Asheville
A homestyle Ukrainian restaurant is preparing to debut in Asheville.

ASHEVILLE, NC — Ukrainian-born owner Svitlana Eadie told Business Debut that Slava Cafe & Bakery, located at 37 Wall St, Asheville, NC 28801, is aiming to open in about six weeks. The cafe will serve as both a bakery and eatery inspired by Eadie’s family traditions, offering a place for locals to share meals and connect.
What to Expect
Eadie said the cafe’s inspiration comes from her grandmother and mother, recalling her upbringing in a large, food-centered Ukrainian household. “Whenever you come to my cafe, it’s going to be like coming to my house,” she told Business Debut. “The idea is to make people feel welcome — bring your kids, your pets, and just hang out for good food and good conversation.”
The space will feature indoor and outdoor seating and operate as a counter-service cafe where guests order at the counter before finding a table.

Sweet offerings will include syrnyky, a cheese-based pancake served with fruit and whipped cream, alongside cakes, pastries, and housemade bread. Gluten-free and vegan options will also be available.
Eadie, who previously founded Svitlana’s Kitchen catering in 2017, will continue offer catering services. The business will be run by Eadie with help from her mother, Vira Saray, and her sister, Vita Kripak.
