DADE COUNTY

Armenti’s Souvenir Shop

Miami will soon welcome a new all-in-one souvenir shop and eatery, according to owner Lucy Contreras. When they will open is not known. Contreras told FFBW that they were recently approved for permits and need to schedule inspections. Armenti’s will sell Florida related souvenirs, like beach towels and the like, along with sandwiches, ice cream, and salads.

La Qbanita Cafeteria

La Qbanita Cafeteria is coming to Miami soon, according to a plan review filing with the DBPR. The business is owned by Jose Jerez and Leyanis Dominguez, per the Division of Corporations. When this restaurant will open is unknown.

Just Salad

The Just Salad brand out of New York is planning a new location in Doral, according to CEO Nick Kenner. Just Salad already has a large presence throughout South Florida. This unit is scheduled to open in the fourth quarter of this year.

Poke 1800

A new poke spot is coming to Homestead, according to owner Hui Lin. Lin didn't have an opening date to share as of now. They will appear in a shopping center with a Presidente Supermarket and a Goodwill thrift store.

BROWARD COUNTY

Pummarola

A new family-owned pizza restaurant will open next month in Fort Lauderdale, according to owner Larry Mele. Pummarola is planned to open May 17, Mele reported to FFBW.

Huey Magoo’s

A new Huey Magoo’s is in the works for Cooper City, according to franchisee Frank Hennessey. They plan to begin their buildout soon, Hennessey reported, and are eying an early August opening.

Hennessey holds the franchise rights for nine locations throughout Broward County. He reports having plans for Davie, Plantation, Aventura, and more. Based in Massachusetts, Hennessey told FFBW that he loves the area and is excited to bring more businesses to it.

Oriano’s Chicago Avenue Pizzeria

A new pizzeria is coming to town, according to a plan review filing with the DBPR. Oriano’s Chicago Avenue Pizzeria will open in Pompano Beach by way of owner Gene Fontanini. When this concept will open is unknown.

PALM BEACH COUNTY

La Placita Mexican Grill & Cantina

A third location for the local La Placita brand is opening in West Palm Beach soon, according to owner Roger Bollier. As of now, Bollier is waiting on inspections and liquor licensing to come through so that he can open. He estimates being ready within a month’s time.

La Placita has two other locations, one in Lake Worth and the other in West Palm Beach.

Mistah Lee's BBQ

A BBQ concept is planning to come to Boynton Beach, according to a plan review filing with the DPBR. Yelp lists Mistah Lee's BBQ as a food truck based out of Delray Beach, so we're thinking that the food truck is moving to a permanent location, but this has not been confirmed by owner Marc Fine.

MARTIN COUNTY

Mi Guatelinda Restaurant & Panaderia

A new restaurant and bakery is coming to Stuart, according to co-owner David Garcia. The restaurant is a couple of months from opening, Garcia reported to FFBW.

ORANGE COUNTY

White Rabbit Orlando

A new tapas, cocktails, and entertainment concept is headed to Orlando, according to a plan review filing with the DBPR. White Rabbit Orlando is owned by Randy and Javier Santos and Adrian Rosa. The brand's website states that they will open this summer. Find more information and renderings on the site.

Mister 01 Extraordinary Pizza

A new pizza concept is coming to town by way of Franchisee Armando Cohen. Mister 01 Extraordinary Pizza has locations in Texas and Florida, as well as a few in internationally. Cohen is also the franchisee of a unit coming to South Florida, Cohen reported to FFBW.

The central Florida location of Mister 01 Extraordinary Pizza is expected to open sometime this year. An address at this time is not available.

Sizzling Korean BBQ & Hot Pot

A new Korean BBQ and Hot Pot concept will open soon in Winter Park, according to co-owner Ping Zhong. Zhong reported to FFBW that they are looking to open in early May. He doesn’t have a specific date to share as of now. Check out their website.

PASCO COUNTY

Philly Special

A Philly cheesesteak concept is coming to Land O’ Lakes, according to owner Joy Williams. The brand has two other stores, one in Tennessee and the other in Texas. Williams didn’t have an opening date to share as of now.

Gasoline Alley Sports Bar & Grill

A new sports bar and grill is coming to Dade City soon, according to owner Dave Johnson. Johnson reports that he is waiting on permits and approval from the city. He estimates another four to six weeks.

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY

Santos Kitchen and Lounge

A new concept is coming to Tampa soon, according to co-owner Robert Rivera. Expect Santos Kitchen and Lounge to open on Cinco de Mayo. Rivera is also the owner of Edge Eatery and District Lounge in St. Petersburg.

PINELLAS COUNTY

727 Seafood and Grill

A new seafood spot is going to open in St. Petersburg, according a plan review filing with the DBPR. 727 Seafood and Grill is a brand that already exists in the area on 49th Street. The filing indicates that a new one on 16th Street is coming. It is unclear if the brand is expanding or changing locations. Visit their website here.

BREVARD COUNTY

Wonder Waffle

The Berlin, Germany-born brand Wonder Waffle is further establishing itself in the United States, according to franchisee Seraina Hug. Wonder Waffle already has two locations in the US thus far: one in Texas, and the other in Tampa.

Hug reported to FFBW that her Melbourne unit is planned to open on September 1st. Expect to enjoy sweet treats like gelato, waffles, shakes and more. The Tampa location is already earning rave reviews on Yelp.

SEMINOLE COUNTY

Kai Asian Street Fare

Kai Asian Street Fare is coming to Oviedo, according to a plan review filing with the DBPR. Currently, there is a location of Kai open in Winter Park. When the Oviedo unit will open is unknown.

At the same address of 888 City Walk Ln, Oviedo, FL 32765 is the Food Factory Foodie Collective, which is a food hall of several micro-concepts that has yet to open. We are unsure if Kai will appear in this food hall concept or independently.
