Seafood and BBQ Restaurant Opening Soon in Dawsonville, GA
The Sip BBQ and Seafood Company will serve Gulf-inspired seafood and Mississippi-style barbecue made fresh daily.
A new restaurant is bringing a different take on barbecue and seafood to Dawsonville. The Sip BBQ and Seafood Company—"Sip" being short for Mississippi—is planning to open this summer at 731 Hwy 9 N, Dawsonville, GA 30534, in the former Billy’s Country Kitchen space, owner Brian Knight shared with Business Debut.
Knight, who is from South Mississippi and currently owns a restaurant there, said he was surprised by the stark differences in barbecue and seafood flavors in Georgia. While not criticizing the region’s flavor profiles, he hopes to introduce the style he knows best from back home to Dawson County.
The Sip is aiming for an opening in late May or early June. The restaurant will operate as a fast-casual concept with a drive-through, and Knight emphasized that everything will be made fresh.
The Sip will be open seven days a week. From Sunday through Wednesday, they’ll serve breakfast and lunch only. Thursday through Saturday, the restaurant will serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
Expect a menu focused on Gulf-style seafood, including crabs, oysters, po’boys, crawfish, catfish, shrimp, and more. For guests who prefer land-based fare, barbecue will also be available, with pork, chicken, and beef sourced locally.
