Coffyn Pyes Moving from Pop-Up to Permanent Location
Savory and vegetarian pies will be featured at Coffyn Pyes’ new Atlanta location.

ATLANTA, GA - Coffyn Pyes is the latest business to announce their plans to join the Pittsburgh Yards Container Courtyard at 352 University Ave SW, Atlanta, GA 30310. Co-owner Smita Premkumar shared the news with Business Debut. They are targeting an opening on September 28th, after finalizing all necessary permits.
Menu Highlights
Coffyn Pyes serves savory and sweet flaky crust pies that can easily be taken on the go. The name originates from the old word "Coffin," which was used for pie crusts in the 16th century, and “Pye” is derived from the old British spelling.
Their menu includes flavors like Bollywood beef, buffalo chicken, desi chicken and several others. They also offer vegetarian options, such as spinach artichoke and Thai curry chickpea kale. The menu also features seasonal options like turkey dinner. Premkumar described their model as similar to an ice cream shop that consistently features new flavor combinations.

“We like to experiment with flavors and we like to keep it interesting for everyone,” Premkumar said. “Customers can come by and see what’s new that day.”
From Pop-Up to BeltLine Storefront
Premkumar and her business partner Maribeth Coleman launched Coffyn Pyes in 2020 to serve festivals and events. When COVID-19 canceled events, the business pivoted to grocery distribution with Fresh Harvest, Ollie’s Market, and select wholesale outlets. Currently, they pop up at events around Atlanta.
Expect them to participate in the Nia Fest and hosted at the Pittsburgh Yards on September 2oth.
Hours and Opening Plans
The shop will operate Wednesday through Sunday, initially between 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. Hours may expand on weekends once they better understand foot traffic.
