The Sexton Pub and Provisions will bring Irish fare and cocktails to Savannah this fall.

The Sexton Pub and Provisions, a new bar and restaurant run by brothers Joshua and Matt Sexton, will bring a unique mix of Irish street food, classic pub fare, and craft cocktails to Savannah this fall. The new pub will take over a historic home at 9 W 43rd St, Savannah, GA 31401. Joshua Sexton told Business Debut that he is eyeing a tentative opening date in September if the permitting process goes smoothly.

The Sexton Pub and Provisions will serve as a casual Irish pub with indoor and outdoor seating, offering a total capacity of around 72 guests. There are 12 seats at the bar, 30 seats on the terrace, and a dining area upstairs that can accommodate roughly 30 people. It will be open from 11 am–12 midnight on Sunday through Thursday and from 11 am–2 am on Friday and Saturday.

The food program focuses on Irish street food, a concept inspired by Sexton’s research into lesser-known Irish dishes. “It started with this documentary about a dish called a spice bag, it’s fried chicken breast over chips and sautéed vegetables with either curry sauce or five-spice,” he said. Classics like fish and chips, bangers and colcannon, and other notable dishes will be served alongside boxty potato pancakes, pork pasties, and battered sausages (such as an Irish-style corn dog with Guinness batter).

The bar program will include a full cocktail menu that combines upscale mixology with casual accessibility, as well as Guinness on draft. “We’ll have very inexpensive cocktails, paired with some higher-end and more well-crafted cocktails drinks,” Sexton explained.

Joshua Sexton brings 25 years of hospitality experience, including managing bars in Atlanta, San Francisco, and Oakland. “I’ve been managing and running bars and been a beverage director or a bartender for twenty five years. I also have a background in high end cocktails,” he said.

Mike Sexton is no stranger to hospitality either. His experience ranges from opening restaurants in Denver to working in hospitality technology at OpenTable.
