Rise Preschool Coming to Westview Atlanta
A new early childhood center in Atlanta will emphasize discovery-based, child-led learning for ages 2 to 5.
A brand-new early childhood education center is coming to Atlanta on August 11th. Rise Preschool will be located at 1541 Ralph David Abernathy Blvd SW, Atlanta, GA 30310, transforming a historic bungalow in the Westview Business District into a warm and welcoming learning space for young children.
Owner Malori Doxsee told Business Debut that Rise Preschool will officially open for the school year slightly after the Atlanta Public Schools. “My goal was to create a small, kind of intimate early learning experience for children and their families,” she said.
The Rise Preschool maintains a play-based learning philosophy, emphasizing child-led discovery and developmentally appropriate guidance. “Children learn best through play,” Doxsee explained. “Their brains are most active in play, so engaging them and trying to pull that information out or add to what their brains are absorbing is the most natural way to do it.”

The facility will be divided into two, half for ages 2–3 and 3–5, with each classroom filled with natural light and set up to reflect the school’s homey, village-inspired vibe. “It really has a homey, charming sort of feel since it is a house,” Doxsee added.
The preschool will operate Monday through Friday, offering two enrollment options: a half-day program from 9 am–1 pm, and an afternoon extension for families who need additional childcare hours. The afternoon block will focus on sensory play, outdoor exploration, and creative expression and is available to all students ages 2 to 5.
It is Doxsee’s first time opening her own preschool, although she previously served as the director of a half-day preschool in Atlanta. With a degree from the University of Alabama’s NAEYC-accredited program and support from her husband, who holds an MBA from Emory University, she’s combining years of experience with a thoughtful, community-based vision for Rise.
