Raise the Bar and Grill Opening Soon in Lake Alfred

LAKE ALFRED, FL — Raise the Bar and Grill is targeting an opening this week at 1504 Lake Alfred Road, Lake Alfred, FL 33850, owner Heidi Whitcomb told Business Debut.

What to Expect

The concept combines a full bar with a wide-ranging food menu, including sandwiches, flatbreads, soups, salads, and Sunday all-day breakfast. “We have about 15 different sandwiches alone,” Whitcomb said. “We’re really trying to drive that lunch crowd, but there’s something for everybody.”

Menu highlights include the “Gigi,” an Italian sandwich named for Whitcomb’s mother, and “The King,” a nod to Elvis Presley featuring peanut butter and bananas with a twist. Guests will also find classics like Philly cheesesteaks, French dips, and club sandwiches.

Raise the Bar and Grill will feature two bars. One will be in the main restaurant and another connected to a game room and outdoor patios.

“We want people to be able to sit outside, relax, and just call out for another round of wings or a beer without leaving their seats,” Whitcomb told Business Debut. Expect also rocking chairs, blankets for cool nights, and a focus on service that feels like home.

Ownership and Vision

Whitcomb, a Winter Haven native with more than 35 years experience in the hospitality industry, co-owns the business with her partner Robert Meyer. “I came back home and saw a lack of good quality food and good quality service. We’re here to bring that back and to give back to the community,” she said.

The restaurant will also host live music, bingo, trivia, and seasonal events, with larger community gatherings planned for 2025 in a private field behind the property.

Market and Space

Raise the Bar and Grill will seat about 74 guests inside and up to 100 outside across two patios. The layout includes spacious seating, two bars, and a pass-through window for patio service.

Opening Timeline

Raise the Bar and Grill is aiming to open in early October.

Monday–Thursday: 11 a.m. – 11 p.m.
Friday–Saturday: 11 a.m. – 2 a.m.
Sunday: 9 a.m. – 10 p.m.
