Pour Intentions Wine Bar in the Works for Atlanta

A new wine bar, Pour Intentions, plans to open in Atlanta later this year and is currently finalizing a lease for a space near the Fox Theatre. It will offer a globally inspired wine bar concept, and owner and level 1 sommelier Joseph Dennis told Business Debut that they’re hoping to debut by late September.

The business, which gained early traction through sold-out wine pairing dinners, is now transitioning into a permanent brick-and-mortar space. Expect a menu of charcuterie boards, small shareable plates, and desserts, paired with a rotating wine-by-the-glass menu.

Wines will be sourced from small producers and sustainable vineyards globally. “Our mission is kind of to create a space that is as much about storytelling and experience as it is about what's in your wine glass,” Dennis explained. The team also plans to offer wine subscriptions and a “Pour Intentions at home” experience, where fans of original pop-up dinners can recreate them in their homes.

While final hours are still being finalized, Pour Intentions Wine Bar aims to align its schedule with events at the Fox Theatre, opening four to five days a week to attract pre- and post-show patrons. Customers can expect lounge-style seating, occasional DJs, and a welcoming ambiance to create connection, curiosity, and conversation.

Although this will be Dennis’s first brick-and-mortar restaurant, he previously co-owned a cigar bar and currently runs his own IT company.

His business partner, David Sylvain, brings deep hospitality experience. The vision to create Pour Intentions Wine Bar was when Dennis began hosting curated wine dinners with a friend who is a Level 2 sommelier and several local chefs. Those dinners quickly gained popularity. “The brick and mortar launch brings the same kind of curation to a permanent home,” Dennis said.
