MIAMI SPRINGS, FL - Pinecrest Bakery, founded by Efrain Valdes Jr., is planning its 25th corporate location at 4601 NW 36th St, Miami Springs, FL 33166, a former Burger King site, targeting a second to third quarter 2026 opening, Valdes told Business Debut.

The location reflects a broader expansion strategy focused on acquiring second-generation restaurant sites with existing drive-thru infrastructure.

What to Expect

The Miami Springs bakery will feature seating for approximately 25 to 35 guests, along with a drive-thru designed to improve speed and accessibility. A streamlined menu will be offered from 5 a.m. to 9 a.m. to accommodate morning demand.

The site also benefits from improved access, including a newly opened connection to an adjacent retail parking lot to allow easier entry and exit for customers.

Pinecrest Bakery operates 24 hours a day across all locations, serving a high-volume customer base throughout South Florida.

Founded in 2012, Pinecrest Bakery was built around recreating a traditional neighborhood bakery experience centered on family and daily routine.

“What I wanted was to bring that traditional value that we grew up with… that bakery where we would all go in the morning,” Valdes told Business Debut.

The menu includes staple items such as guava pastries and café con leche, with the company producing large volumes of pastries annually and serving approximately 65,000 customers each week.

The business remains family-operated, with Valdes working alongside his wife Gladys Valdes, their children, and partner Joel Rodriguez, who oversees operations. The company employs more than 400 people.

Growth Strategy and Expansion

Valdes said Pinecrest Bakery’s growth is centered on identifying former fast-food locations such as Burger King, Wendy’s, and Boston Market sites that already offer drive-thru capabilities and efficient layouts.

“For me, I’m looking for those second-generation sites,” Valdes told Business Debut, noting the goal is to provide quick access, easy parking, and convenience for customers.

The company is currently developing additional locations in Miami Lakes, along 8th Street and 142nd Avenue, and continuing construction in Boynton Beach.

In total, Pinecrest Bakery operates 25 corporate locations and seven franchise locations, bringing the system to 32 stores. Valdes said the long-term goal is to expand to 100 locations.

The brand is also planning a future location near Jackson Memorial Hospital designed to serve families staying nearby for extended medical care.

Community Impact

Beyond expansion, Pinecrest Bakery is involved in community initiatives including partnerships with the Ronald McDonald House and the Miami Cancer Institute. Valdes, a cancer survivor, also participates in annual fundraising efforts such as “Bounce Back from Cancer.”

He was recently recognized with the 12 Good Men Award for his philanthropic efforts supporting families and children in need.

“It’s always important to pay it forward,” Valdes told Business Debut.
