Pickleball Academy Opening a Two-Court Facility in Peachtree Corners

A brand founded by a then high school student, a college student, and their father in the Tampa area is expanding to a second location in the greater Atlanta market. Pickleball Academy, which debuted as Tampa Bay Pickleball two years ago, has since grown to include locations in Florida and Georgia, with a South Carolina unit on the way, co-owner and father Eric Klaus shared with Business Debut.

The new Peachtree Corners facility will feature two indoor, air-conditioned courts and is located at 6899 Peachtree Industrial Blvd, Peachtree Corners, GA 30092. Klaus noted that the facility will be open 24/7, with court time managed via online reservations, events, and tournaments.

Unlike many indoor pickleball venues, Pickleball Academy does not operate on a monthly membership basis. Instead, it runs as an event-driven model, hosting a range of offerings for players of all ages, genders, and skill levels—from newcomers learning the basics to advanced players seeking competitive play.

Klaus said that some of the most popular events include their First Timer and Open House sessions, held every Saturday and Sunday, where paddles are provided and beginners can learn in a welcoming group setting.

Other recurring events include “Ladies Learn and Play” sessions, allowing women to learn at their own pace while meeting other learners. The full range of programs is available on their website: tbpickleball.com/menu.

In Tampa Bay alone, Klaus said, the brand introduced over 3,000 new players to the sport last year.

The concept began when siblings Ben and Kennedy Klaus approached their father, Eric, with a proposal to launch a pickleball-focused business. After securing a location near a flea market in Oldsmar, Florida, the trio quickly found success and soon brought on partners to help with expansion.

In addition to the new Peachtree Corners location, plans are underway for new units in South Tampa, Lakeland, and Greenville, South Carolina. Expect the Peachtree Corners location to open very soon.
