Pepper & Salt BBQ Opening in the Forthcoming Hogan Yards in Vero Beach

Pepper & Salt BBQ is preparing to open a new location as part of Hogan Yards, a family-forward development coming soon to Vero Beach.

The new restaurant will open alongside Orchid Island Brewery, which is relaunching after closing its customer-facing operations during the pandemic, co-owner of Pepper & Salt BBQ Heather Chianis shared with Business Debut.

Together, the two local businesses will anchor Hogan Yards at 2745 St Lucie Ave, Vero Beach, FL 32960, the site of the former Hogan and Sons Packing House. Chianis said they are preserving some of the nostalgic charm of the old building while constructing a space that will offer ample indoor and outdoor seating, live music, pickleball, an arcade, and more.

The focus of Hogan Yards will be on creating a casual, welcoming space where families can gather to enjoy local food, drinks, and entertainment. Although a specific opening date is not yet available, Chianis noted that they hope to debut as soon as possible.

In the new location, Pepper & Salt BBQ will serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner seven days a week. While they will bring their full barbecue menu to the new location, they also plan to expand their offerings.

Pizza ovens are already part of the kitchen buildout, and specials such as Texas-style steak nights are under consideration. More details are pending.

The shared space will feature a large taproom-style seating area served by both Pepper & Salt BBQ and Orchid Island Brewery.

John and Heather Chianis opened the original Pepper & Salt BBQ in 2021, with John serving as pit master. More recently, the couple expanded with Pepper & Salt Market, located next door to their first location, offering coffee and breakfast.
