Peak Pizza Bar Opening Soon in Cullowhee
This concept pairs New York-style pizza with cocktails and draft beer.
CULLOWHEE, NC — Peak Pizza Bar is preparing to open at 2968 Old Cullowhee Road, Cullowhee, NC 28723, with owner Justin Smith telling Business Debut the team is putting the final touches on the space and targeting a soft opening next week, pending final fire and health inspections.
Smith told Business Debut the restaurant is taking over the former Rogers Bros building and will be one of the few dining options in Cullowhee within walking distance of Western Carolina University.
What to Expect
Peak Pizza Bar will be a fast-casual, counter-service restaurant focused on New York-style pizza, Smith told Business Debut. The menu will center on large 18-inch pies and pizza by the slice, along with chicken tenders, chicken wings, chicken sandwiches, hoagies, and salads, Smith told Business Debut.
Customers will order at the counter, receive a table number, and choose where to sit indoors, outdoors, or at the bar, Smith told Business Debut. The restaurant will also include a full cocktail bar with draft beer and craft cocktails for guests who want to stay longer after ordering food, Smith told Business Debut.
Peak Pizza Bar is also tied to another nearby hospitality business. Smith told Business Debut that his sister company is Whiteside Brewing Company in Cashiers, which has been operating for about eight years.
Opening Timeline
Smith told Business Debut that the opening timeline depends on final inspections.
In a best-case scenario, the team would hold a soft opening Monday 4/27 and open for lunch Tuesday 4/28. If approvals take longer, Smith told Business Debut they are looking at a soft opening Wednesday 4/28 and a public opening Thursday 4/29.
Hours
During the week, Peak Pizza Bar plans to operate from 11:30 a.m.—9 p.m. or 10 p.m. and will be closed on Wednesdays, Smith told Business Debut.
On Fridays and Saturdays, the kitchen is expected to close at 9 p.m., while pizza by the slice and the bar will remain available until midnight, Smith told Business Debut.
