JOHNS CREEK, GA – A taste of Cuba is coming soon to Johns Creek, as Papi’s Cuban Grill prepares to open its newest restaurant at 11600 Medlock Bridge Rd, Suite 180, Johns Creek, GA 30097. The location is expected to welcome guests on November 3, 2025, according to CEO Arney Hernandez, who spoke with Business Debut.

The Johns Creek restaurant will be a franchisee-owned location and will feature the brand’s full-service concept. The 2,744-square-foot space will seat about 100 guests across indoor dining and a patio. The restaurant will also feature live music, cultural events, and the Caribbean-inspired atmosphere that has made Papi’s a local favorite.

“This specific location in Johns Creek, we’re gonna have a full concept,” Hernandez said. “We plan to share our Cuban culture and cuisine with all our Papi’s lovers in the area.”

Guests can expect all of the restaurant’s classics, including its famous Cuban sandwiches, empanadas, arroz con pollo, and other island dishes. Drinks will also be served, making this the first full franchise Papi’s location with alcohol. Hernandez said they are considering adding breakfast service on select days after the initial launch, depending on the customers' traffic.

“Our plan is to have the opportunity to bring [our guests to Cuba] without the necessity of buying a flight ticket,” Hernandez shared. “We want to give you a tour of the island.”

A Story of Resilience and Flavor

The Papi’s brand has deep roots in Cuban history as founder Reynaldo “Rey” Regalado escaped Cuba in 1990 and came to the U.S. with nothing but family recipes and determination. In 2002, he realized his dream by opening the first Papi’s in Atlanta, naming the restaurant after his late father, Reynaldo Sr.

Today, Papi’s has grown into one of the most recognized Cuban dining destinations in the U.S. It earns recognition from outlets such as USA Today, The Infatuation, the Georgia Business Journal, and more. The Johns Creek location marks the brand’s second franchise opening this year, but the first with a full concept. Additional markets in Fayetteville, Peachtree City, Coweta County, and Athens are under consideration.
