ATHENS, GA — Namak Restaurant, a full-service Pakistani restaurant from owner Shakeel Haque, is preparing to open around Christmas at 1155 Mitchell Bridge Rd, Athens, GA 30606, he told Business Debut. The Athens location will be the second for the brand, following its original Alpharetta restaurant.

What to Expect

The Athens restaurant will be a full-service concept with a bar, offering sit-down dining. Haque said the space spans two levels, with a downstairs bar and an upstairs dining room.

Guests can also expect a patio area and a private party room for larger groups or special events. Haque said the team is planning future events and promotions but is still finalizing details.

Namak Restaurant will focus on Pakistani cuisine, carrying forward the concept established at the Alpharetta location. The Athens menu will be slightly smaller and somewhat different from the original, with final offerings to be announced.

Haque emphasized that pricing and menu structure are being designed with accessibility in mind. “We have to be reasonable for everyone and affordable for everyone so everybody can enjoy our food,” he told Business Debut.

Opening Timeline

Haque said the team is targeting an opening around Christmas, either just before or shortly after the holiday. An exact opening date is still to be announced.

Hours

Initial hours are planned for 4 p.m. — midnight, with the restaurant most likely closing on Mondays. On weekends, the team may extend service until 1 a.m. as operations ramp up and guest demand becomes clearer.
