TAMARAC, FL — Origins Cafe, a new coffee shop in Tamarac, is advancing through permitting and targeting a mid-January soft opening at 6805 W Commercial Blvd, Tamarac, FL 33319, owner David Levy told Business Debut.

What to Expect

The cafe will focus on coffee service and onsite roasting. Guests can expect an array of coffee drinks, hot and iced, and a selection of pastries. Seating will be limited to roughly eight seats plus counter spots within the 1,040-square-foot space, and Wi-Fi will be available for guests.

Levy distributes Jamaica Blue Mountain through his import business and will feature it alongside coffees from multiple origins including Kenya, Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, the Dominican Republic and Costa Rica.

“We’ll be serving coffee from other origins in addition to Blue Mountain—that’s the idea behind the name Origins,” Levy told Business Debut.

Ownership and Team

Origins Cafe is led by David Levy with contributions from his children, Damian and Rachelle Levy. “Damian handles much of the marketing while I focus on the back-of-house and numbers,” Levy told Business Debut.

Opening Timeline

Levy said the project is in the permitting stage and plans to submit for permits immediately. He is targeting a mid-January opening, contingent on permit timing and roaster installation.

Hours

Levy plans to open seven days a week with approximate hours being 7 a.m. - 6 p.m. Exact hours are to be announced.
