Organic Smoothies and Açaí Bowls Coming to West Palm Beach
SunLife Organics will serve organic smoothies, açaí bowls, cold-pressed juices, matcha, coffee, and select hot items.
WEST PALM BEACH, FL — SunLife Organics will open its 22nd location on March 7 at 619 Hibiscus Street, West Palm Beach, FL 33401, continuing the steady national growth of a brand that began with a single, self-funded juice bar in Malibu. Founder Khalil Rafati told Business Debut the Palm Beach opening represents a full-circle moment after years of persistence and careful expansion.
What to Expect
The West Palm Beach location will operate as an all-organic café offering smoothies, açaí bowls, cold-pressed juices, matcha and coffee, along with select hot items such as grilled cheeses and paninis. The space will include indoor counter seating and outdoor patio seating, with service designed to accommodate both quick stops and longer visits.
Rafati said the brand has never compromised on its core standard. “Everything we do is organic, and that’s something I will never compromise on,” he told Business Debut.
Menu and Vision
SunLife Organics is best known for its smoothies and açaí bowls, along with bone broth and matcha that Rafati personally sources from Kagoshima, Japan. “I flew there twice and met with tea masters until I found the most exquisite, buttery matcha on the planet,” he said.
The menu has drawn national attention, including front-page coverage in the New York Times and the Wall Street Journal. Rafati said a Wall Street Journal front-page feature naming SunLife Organics’ smoothie as the “drink of the summer” was one of the most emotional moments of his career.
From Malibu to National Growth
SunLife Organics opened its first location in Malibu in 2011 with no institutional funding and no formal business plan. Rafati said he borrowed money he could not afford to lose and opened the doors unsure of what would happen next. What followed was a line out the building from day one.
Much of that early momentum came from regular support at the Malibu location from high-profile locals, including David Duchovny, Robert Downey Jr., Maria Shriver, Pink, Cindy Crawford and producer Rick Rubin. Rafati said those customers helped sustain the business year-round and gave the young brand credibility it could not have bought.
Ownership and Leadership
While Rafati remains involved in site selection and financing, he said SunLife Organics today is run almost entirely by women. He credited Kylie, Taylor, Hallie and Jamie, along with several others, for overseeing day-to-day operations and brand consistency. “The women who run my company are the reason why it feels so amazing and why it’s so successful,” he told Business Debut.
Message to the Community
Rafati said SunLife Organics is built on service, gratitude, and daily connection with the people it serves. He noted that growth has never been about an exit strategy, but about continuing to show up for customers and team members every day.
“I get up every single day and feel like the luckiest guy on the planet,” he told Business Debut. “People ask me what my exit plan is, and it’s baffling to me. Why would I exit? I love what I do, I love who I work with, and I love my customers.”
Rafati said visiting stores and serving guests remains the most meaningful part of the business. “I get to treat people every day, people who care about their health and about each other, and that makes me happy,” he said. “There’s nothing better on the planet. I wouldn’t trade places with anybody.”
