Northwest Square to Open in DeLand with Apartments, Food Hall and More
A historic DeLand church is being converted into an event space, food hall, commissary kitchen, apartment building and retail space.
Northwest Square, an adaptive reuse of the historic Trinity United Methodist Church, will officially open on September 29th at 306 W Wisconsin Ave, DeLand, FL 32720.
Owned by Chris and Jessica Levings, the project brings a mix of dining, retail, apartments, and a full commercial commissary kitchen to the community, Jessica Levings shared with Business Debut.
The development includes 15 apartments, repurposed from the former classrooms of the church, as well as five food and beverage vendors.
La Pinsa will serve gluten-free flatbreads and salads, while Chapel Tap will offer Florida beers, appetizers and wine. Tropishack will focus on Cuban sandwiches, Bernard’s Market will include a coffee bar and neighborhood grocery, and Centro Tea will feature craft teas with gluten-free and vegan baked goods. Wander Bar Cocktail Lounge will provide a venue for events like receptions and cooking classes.
In addition to the food and retail offerings, the space will also include Oliver and Gray Home, a luxury home goods store. The sanctuary, fellowship hall and smaller chapel have been converted into event spaces.
Keep an eye on the Northwest Square website for updates.
