New Pizzeria Opening in Fort Myers Following a Year of Delays
Coozy Pizzeria will debut this month with New York and Chicago style pizza and more.
FORT MYERS, FL – Coozy Pizza is targeting a March opening at 3940 Metro Parkway, Unit 123, Fort Myers, FL 33916, following more than a year of renovations and permitting delays, owner Alex Vagner told Business Debut.
Vagner secured the space in September 2024 and began converting the former retail jewelry store into a fast-casual pizzeria. After contractor and permitting setbacks, the team is now awaiting final inspections and state approval before opening.
What to Expect
Coozy Pizza will operate as a fast-casual pizzeria with limited indoor and outdoor seating. Guests will order at the counter, with approximately 12 seats inside and six outside.
The concept focuses on classic pizzeria offerings similar to those found in New York or Chicago, with a menu that will be tested during its first quarter of operation. In addition to dine-in options, the restaurant is designed primarily for lunch and dinner to-go orders, serving nearby businesses, families and apartment residents.
Menu and Vision
The menu will include a range of traditional pizzas, from cheese and pepperoni to meat lovers, Hawaiian, veggie, margherita, buffalo chicken and bruschetta varieties.
Beyond pizza, guests can expect chicken wings, french fries and salads, including Greek, four season and Caesar options. Sandwich selections will include a chicken pesto, turkey bacon club, spicy Italian and classic ham melt.
Vagner brings prior hospitality experience, having previously opened a coffee shop in Marco Island. At Coozy Pizza, he is joined by partners Sercan Ozen and Burak Kocer. The three partners will divide responsibilities, with day-to-day kitchen operations managed in-house while Vagner oversees logistics, food supply and administrative operations.
Opening Timeline
The team is targeting a March opening, pending final inspections and approval from the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation.
“We’re just waiting for a couple of final inspections. Hopefully within a week or two those will be passed,” Vagner told Business Debut.
Hours
Tentative hours are 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday. Weekend hours are expected to begin at 10 a.m., with closing around 1 or 2 a.m., subject to change during the first quarter of operation.
