CHARLOTTE, NC — Wild Roses, an intimate lounge concept from Charlotte native John Georgopoulos, is targeting a February opening at 710 W Trade St Suite E, Charlotte, NC 28202, Georgopoulos told Business Debut.

Georgopoulos is known in the area for Little Village Grill, which he sold last year after operating for over 20 years. He decided to open Wild Roses after identifying a need in the Gateway Village area for a quieter dining and lounge concept.

What to Expect

Georgopoulos described Wild Roses as a conversation-forward lounge. “This is supposed to be a place where people could come and have a conversation and not have music blasting,” he told Business Debut.

The lounge is designed for about 40 guests, with a mix of seating including three Chesterfield couches with chairs facing them in one section, several four-top tables and a bar area with additional seating.

Wild Roses will focus on cocktails paired with shareable plates, with a limited menu built to complement the bar program. Georgopoulos said the kitchen also plans to offer a few entrees, including lamb chops and salmon.

Designer Jay Johnstone led the design of the space, Georgopoulos said.

Opening Timeline

The team has passed inspections and is applying for an alcohol license, which Georgopoulos said he expects within a week or two. The goal is to open in February.

Hours

Wild Roses plans to start with dinner service only, opening after 5 p.m. and aiming to close around 12 a.m. Georgopoulos said the lounge expects to operate six days a week, with exact days to be announced.

As hours expand, Georgopoulos said he may add weekend brunch on Saturdays and Sundays.
