ATLANTA, GA - Honey & Challah Cafe is targeting a first week of May opening at 6120 Powers Ferry Rd Ste 110, Atlanta, GA 30339. Owner Patricia Kapusta told Business Debut the fast-casual kosher dairy cafe is currently under construction, with a tentative opening date of May 4.

The new concept marks Kapusta’s second restaurant. She and her husband have owned and operated Companions Kitchen and Coffee for nearly nine years.

What to Expect

Honey & Challah Cafe will offer breakfast, lunch, specialty coffees and tea in a relaxed, fast-casual setting. Guests will order at the counter and receive table delivery, with approximately 20 seats inside and about 40 seats outdoors. A separate lounge area will feature couches and smaller tables for guests who want to work, meet friends or grab coffee to go.

“It’s going to be very casual, relaxing atmosphere,” Kapusta told Business Debut. “Even though it’s in the office building with business and stuff, it’s going to be more like a relaxed environment where people can come and just meet their friends and get a cup of coffee or eat breakfast and lunch and just relax.”

The cafe will operate as a kosher dairy restaurant, following AKC certification guidelines. While it will not serve chicken or beef, the menu will include fish and vegetarian options.

Breakfast offerings will range from omelets to shakshuka, a tomato-based dish with poached eggs. Lunch will feature salads, salmon wraps, bowls and flatbreads, along with specialty coffee drinks.

Because the restaurant will be kosher certified, many items will be made in-house. “There’s a lot of products that we cannot just go to the store and get it,” Kapusta said. “Like pizza dough, we have to make it in-house. Our sauces we have to make it in-house. So it’s going to be more delicious, of course, and more fresh.”

Menu highlights include a house-made salmon burger, falafel platter with hummus and tahini, an Israel bowl with the option to add falafel or grilled salmon, and flatbreads made with in-house dough.

Kapusta said the menu will be about 80 percent similar to Companions Kitchen and Coffee, with adjustments to meet kosher standards. “There’s a demand for a kosher cafe, but there’s not a supply,” she said. “I agree to supply.”
